Very nice place

We have stayed there several times now and it’s lovely. I also got stuck on the grass last time with my Motorhome which was entirely my fault. One of the estate workers came over, we had a giggle and he went to get the Land Rover and pulled me out. ( he didn’t have to, just offered as he was a good helpful bloke). Big thanks to that chap. Likewise, I have had good humour chats on the phone when booking and received paperwork with no problems. Please don’t moan, complain about administrative matters as that’s just life! It DOES state pre booking required. Just ring the number from the Book, App, or Web site, it’s not rocket science! No I don’t work there or indeed am I an NT member. Just go chill out and enjoy the lovely site and grounds. 🙂

Changes promised

NT [the owners] of this site say there was a mistake in my booking and none of the essential information was sent. OK apology accepted, it happens. Further changes to on-site management are under consideration: the notice on the back gate to be changed; main Estate reception staff briefed on caravan-site comms. It isn't obviously a "working farm" and there's no-one around, they need to give a means of immediate contact

Nice site, poor administration

Reading other reviews confirms my experience: the site is well designed, clean and quiet but has no close administration nor maintenance attention. My booking was completely unacknowleged -,an admin failure by NT. Consequently it took two hours of walking around the very large estate, and huge stress [I am convalescing a broken ankle] to even get on the site, since I had expected someone on site to advise me. There was no-one, and the visitor reception said "we don't manage the caravan site". No phone signal, and I eventually imposed my self, and dog,in the main estate office, where an NT officer worked very hard to sort out the booking on a queued telephone line. That's the number which NT give, and don't answer. Worse, there is permanent notice stating that the entrance gate post code which the Caravan Club advise takes us into [quite correctly] is "sat nav error, go to main Estate entrance]. I did, and left the rig at the main gate knowing that it was wrong, then walked to find out how to get in through the unmanned electronic gate at the site. I ask that NT take this down.

Privileged location

It might not be the cheapest place to stay but this little CL delivers for us. Peaceful, easy setting up, well maintained site with view into NT parkland and private access during opening hours. This is our second stay and it is just as idyllic second time around. Cycling routes nearby - we went to Blandford Forum and beyond, also to Poole harbour on the Castleman Trailway. Good pub serving excellent food a 20 minute ride away plus site is within easy reach of Wimborne Minster. We can highly recommend this cl.

Snowdrops & daffodils

Nice neat site hidden away on the estate, with your own path directly into the grounds, which were carpetted with snowdrops and daffodils. Having just returned from a very relaxed weekend with our two very happy dogs we cannot wait to return later in the year. Farm shop just down the road is well stocked with good butchers next door. A little road noise during the day but not a problem. One of the electric bollards is still not working so only 4 pitches have electric hook-up.
