Why stay here ...
We are located at the edge of the peaceful conservation village of Foston on the Wolds. The 0.75 acre lawned paddock is surrounded by trees and hedges, and overlooks paddocks and open fields providing an ideal location for a quiet and relaxing stay. Half of the paddock has been reinforced with a mesh matting to provide a grassed firm all weather surface. The site is well provided with 10amp electric hook-ups giving a free choice of where to set up your pitch. TV reception is also good.
We are in easy access to the coast, countryside and local attractions; well positioned to explore the sites of Yorkshire including:
- the historic towns of Beverley and York
- the seaside resorts of Bridlington, Hornsea, Scarborough , Filey, Robins Hoods Bay and Whitby
- the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs
- the Stately Homes and Gardens of Burton Agnes, Sledmere and Castle Howard
Although the village itself has no shop or pub, there are local shops and newsagents, several pubs and restaurants (including a Chinese restaurant and fish and chip shop), a butcher, vet and doctor's surgery readily available in the surrounding villages, with supermarkets in Driffield, Hornsea and Bridlington (Morrisons, Tesco, Lidl, Audi, etc.) a short drive away.
Dogs are welcome on the site, but owners are asked to respect other site users and keep their pets under control at all times and clean up after them. There are several walks around the village and local lanes for exercising, but again we ask owners to keep the area clean - unfortunately not all the locals are as considerate, but we don't want the site to get a reputation.
As Club members and keen users of CLs ourselves, we appreciate and enjoy the peace and quiet from staying on CLs. We therefore aim to provide a site which we would like to stay at ourselves.
Open Easter to end of October.

Recently spent two weeks on site although meant to be one. Day after arriving I was taken by ambulance into hull hospital an hour away to spend a week as inpatient leaving my wife on her own on site.
We cannot thank the Coulams and their parents enough for their kindness ensuring all was ok and keeping an eye out. We were lucky enough to be able to stay another week on my return and the peace and tranquility was just what the dr ordered along with watching the entertainment provided by the family's alpacas.
Thank you again. We will definitely be back and can't recommend the old plough enough if you're looking for an immaculate site with friendly relaxed owners and a place to truly kick back and relax.
