Why stay here ...

Egremont Pines Certificated Location is a new site located near the market town of Pocklington and the historic city of York (approx 10 miles away). It is ideally positioned for those wishing to tour East or North Yorkshire with so many places to visit on your doorstep (Scarborough, Bridlington, Whitby, Harrogate etc), and offering easy access to the A1 and A64.

This site is a perfect place to just sit and unwind it is fully enclosed and fenced in making it very secure, it's also very quiet with almost no road noise save for the odd tractor passing by. We offer all our guests a very warm welcome and have tried to offer a full range of modern facilities including our timber cabin which houses shower, toilet and sink plus washing up facilities along with a communal fridge/freezer and a good selection of local information leaflets to help you enjoy your stay. Naturally we have a chemical and grey waste disposal point. We also boast a beautiful pentagonal cabin which you are welcome to use and enjoy a warm fire in the middle which you can cook your meal over if the mood takes! For those who prefer to dine out there are a large selection of restaurants and pubs serving food to suit all tastes.....Make sure you try our delicious free range eggs for your breakfast!

There are a selection of animals on site including alpacas, chickens, ducks and pigs which you can visit if you are an animal lover! Dogs of course are welcome throughout the year. There is a huge field where you can walk your dog off the lead, plus another large area opposite the caravan pitches where kids can play.

There is a caravan shop less than a minute away that sells new and second hand parts should you need to make any repairs.

All in all Egremont Pines is a wonderful all year round site that is fully fenced and very safe and quiet. WiFi is available on site free of charge.....book now...you won't be disappointed! David and Deanna look forward to welcoming you to their CL.

A good stay

First impressions weren't great. All the pitches were taken on arrival and we couldn't find anyone to book in. However when we did manage to find Dave he sorted out a spot for us. Initially this was along side stored caravans but for our second night we were able to move onto one of the other pitches. Dave is great very friendly and helpful. The toilet/shower block is very clean and nice and warm. There is a little info room with kitchen facilities in which could be useful and at the end of the field a little hut with firepit that can be used by campers. This even has a CD player with selection of CDs and several furs to snuggle under. There are also pleasant walks around the site fields.

Outstanding

This was our first visit to this lovely CL. We have visited caravan sites for over 20 years and have rarely been so impressed so quickly. The whole site is immaculate including the showers/ toilets. There are so many thoughtful touches - the tree den, the barbeque hut even the wood carvings on the fence posts. The owner is a top guy - friendly, informative without being over the top. We loved it , our dog loved it - we did local walks from the site. The highlight though was the gorgeous alpacas and most of all being allowed to stroke one of the babies. Hope to be back soon!

Enjoyable stay

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Egremont Pines CL site and we loved everything about it. Dave and Dee were so welcoming as was Lily (little dog), the alpacas were adorable and 2 had been born the day before we arrived, which they happily took us to see along with all the others, i even got to hold one of the baby alpaca. The site had way and above the facilities you would expect from CL site, new shower block, kitchen area, fantastic BBQ hut cosy and even guitar for a sing along, close enough to explore the surrounding area York, Pickering etc. Feel really thankful that we did not take notice of the 'bad' reviews otherwise we would have missed out on this lovely site.

Disorganised

No management. We booked in advance but found someone already on the allocated pitch. The existing visitors had spread themselves out and taken the EHU of the free pitch. This is not just a five van CL. There is a further area with about 15 vans on it. They all use the single shower. There is no COVID protocol. We phoned when we got there but still no one arrive sort out the pitch and EHU. The adjacent road is busy and noisy. The previous glowing reviews certainly not reflect the state of this place in 2020.

Nice site but .........

We spent the weekend at Egremont and our initial reaction was what a super site. The site is well spaced out with only one pitch at the end a bit tight. What let it down for us was the cabin and shower and toilet. We felt it could do a good clean, the shower mat was filthy. There was no water in the chemical waste section as well. We reckon that the ampage was only 6 amps as 3 of the vans kept tripping.
