'RESTFUL'

On a main road this site has a good entrance but is best approached from Colchester with a caravan. Road noise wasn't obtrusive. The owners are pleasant and helpful. Spacious fully serviced pitches with electric meter which worked out for us about £1 60 per day, there is a charge for a groundsheet of £1 50 per day. Some pitches are better than others although fairly flat. At one end of the site there is a clean well kept toilet portakabin (own sink plugs required) with sanitizer etc because of covid 19, in there is site information and at the far end there is a shed with a washing machine and tumble dryer also there are books which can be borrowed or exchanged. Wifi is free for 30 mins a day provided by camping connect. The coast isn't too far away and we can recommend Youngs for fish and chips at Frinton on Sea and eaten in the nearby park!!.

Peaceful stay at Coichester

Lovely peaceful site, located south of Colchester. Plenty of space and with the added benefit of water at each pitch and separate male/female WC's. Recommended for either short stay to/from ferry or longer stay in the Essex / Suffolk area

What is there not to like?

Everything that has been written in the previous reviews is spot on. Can't disagree with any of the points, (except perhaps the mention of Colchester Zoo which we found expensive and not really many animals). Caron welcomed us with tea and chocolate biscuits which was very welcome after a very slow drive through the Dartford Tunnel. If I'd got to find any fault, which is extremely difficult, I would comment that although it says serviced pitches, whilst all 6 (to allow for cross overs) have a water tap two of them don't actually have a drain and although we were told to empty the water into the bushes, which was no real problem, this was very slightly up hill on our pitch so a drain pipe from the caravan couldn't be used. If this could be sorted it would be a 5*+ CL. Thanks, Caron and Paul for a lovely stay. We will certainly visit again.

Enjoyable Stay

Lovely , quiet , peaceful site , small and restful stay . Very friendly and helpful owners who both work during the day but always available evenings and weekends . Toilets in portakabin (2 loos for ladies and round other side , 1 for gents) Immaculately clean and fresh with hot and cold to big sink , so ideal to shave in . Water tap on every pitch . Very enjoyable stay would highly recommend .

Perfect Break

This site is indeed perfect in every way. Beautifully kept, friendly welcome, central position to explore the area, easy to get onto and not on a very busy road. This is our third visit over the years and we will undoubtedly be back.
