Why stay here ...

Valesmoor Farm, situated on the southern edge of the New Forest principally provides DIY livery facilities for 25 horses/ponies and their owners. We do not provide a purpose-built Club site.

Access to the site is off the B3058. While the entrance is wide, access is generally over a cattle grid, and down the driveway through our front garden towards the house.

The largest motorhomes are incongruous in such a setting, and those with twin-axle caravans may wish to approach us from the opposite direction and enter through the gate or over the cattle grid.

During the period from May to the end of October, for use as a Club Certificated Location, we release a large, slightly sloping, well-drained paddock, with electric hook-up points, adjacent to the back garden. Although there is considerable horsey activity elsewhere the site is quiet and peaceful and ideal for those who love animals, landscaped gardens and nature. Dogs and children, both well-behaved, are welcomed and there is plenty of play room. Pitches are allocated to optimise and ensure fairness of space provision.

Drinking water is available in the paddock and other amenities - shower, toilets, dustbins and chemical waste disposal point are in the vicinity of the house. When Club members arrive we personally show them round and invite them to drive to the forecourt to access these if this is more convenient. As one side of the paddock is lined by mainly mature oak trees, which attract wildlife, we also invite Club members to park further into the paddock if they so wish. The pitch price quoted is for four people.

The paddock is mown although a 'rough' area is left at the bottom for dog-owners' use. However, crossing the road provides direct Forest access for the latter, and the gently undulating New Forest landscape, which is covered by numerous conservation designations and provides opportunities for horse-riding and cycling. 'The Rising Sun' pub is within easy walking distance and children are welcomed.

There are supermarkets, cafes, etc., and public transport in New Milton which is a short drive away. Larger conurbations like Christchurch/Bournemouth or Southampton can be driven to in well under an hour and the Isle of Wight is easily reached from Lymington.

Extensive beaches some flat/sandy some pebble-strewn and others surmounted by cliffs are only a few miles away and like the local villages often provide historic features, e.g. Hurst Spit, and the wildlife lakes at Keyhaven which are historically associated with salt-mining.

Disappointed

Valesmoor Farm
Nice peaceful site but let down by the toilet and shower facilities you advertise The toilet (1 toilet) between 8 caravans is filthy and is set in a garage where workers sat to eat there sandwiches on there break and wasn’t cleaned while we stayed there ( oh sorry yes it was cleaned by a fellow camper) bins were not emptied and no toilet paper was supplied for first 5 days No hand towel or cotton towel for after to dry your hands either .I poked my head in to look att the shower and that was dirty also. There is one water tap for 8 caravans and the thread on this broke while we were there so owner turned the water off but didn’t tell fellow campers so few were left without water . It was fixed the next day but we were still not informed no siting of owner only a man came to the van for the payment Sorry but won’t be returning

Frequently overbooked

Valesmoor Farm
Set in a lovely area, this is a quiet site with eight designated pitches. Unfortunately, during the 8 days that we were there, it was often overbooked. On the day we arrived, there were already six vans there, us making seven. Twice during the next 6 days there were six vans and on our last day there were eight. The 5 van rule is clearly being ignored.

Short Break

Valesmoor Farm
We stayed at Valesmore for a few days in May to see friends on our way back from the Isle of Wight. The eight pitches are large vitually level and all have EHU but probably get a bit boggy around pitch 8 when wet. The fresh water tap is by the gate so if you have an onboard tank you will need to fill up on the way in. The chemical waste is little more than a manhole with a tap in the owners garden, completely functional for us but may be an issue for others.. The site has a shower and a WC which are only open from 8am to 8pm so you need to make sure you have other arrangements at other times. It is set in a livery stable and padocks though it causes no disruption and it's nice to see the horses. The main road is very busy especially in the mornings and sight lines poor, turning right out of the site can be challenging. Cross the road out of the site and you are greeted by the New Forest ponies and miles of walks and cycling routes. The Rising Sun is a great pub serving excellent food a quarter of a mile up the road. New Milton and Lymington are not far away with all the shops and services you are likely to need.

New Forest long weekender

Valesmoor Farm
We used this site (our favourite further north fully booked) to explore the southern mountain bike trails of the New Forest. Excellent location for this as the forest just over the road. We were able to get to all the trails around Burley and Brockenhurst. New Milton and Lymington not far away for shops. As soon as we arrived the owner (I presume) came over to welcome us and receive payment. He did this for everyone. The site is a level field, cropped short, with trees around, lovely birdsong, and the gentle whinnying of horses (no disturbance at all to us). We found the entrance and drive absolutely fine to enter. Leaving the site on last day was a bit tricky as visibility not great (I stood out on the verge opposite to look out for traffic). There is a basic but functional shower and separate toilet with washbasin. These facilities do not open until 8 am, and I was waiting for them at about 7.30 in ignorance. I think this upset the owner, as someone from the livery stables came over to knock on his door and get him to open up! No cheery goodbyes when we left. I never found the 24/7 loo. Would have been handy. The toilet had soap, toilet roll and paper towels which is nice as not all CLs do. Toilet cleaner would have been handy. A convenient site in peaceful surroundings.

Quiet and beautiful

Valesmoor Farm
Had a slight difficulty communicating prior to arrival in getting booking confirmation by email. After that all fine and just the way we like a CL - a quiet field in lovely surroundings, lulled to sleep with the occasional whinny of the horses! Excellent facilities, COVID protocols clear and comprehensive. Liked the info pack emailed out beforehand and that you could pay by BACS then just get on with your stay. Location - near to pub (didn't go but it looked nice), access to walks and cycling galore. One corner of the field - Pitch 8 - gets a bit boggy but we exited ok. Highly recommended.
