A lovely little site, in a great place

Rugden Farm
We spent 10 nights here in April/May. Jim, the owner, and his sheepdog are both getting on in years and are delightful. We received a warm welcome but otherwise we didn't see much of them. There is pleanty of space on this site and everything you need on a CL is convenient. The field is a bit bumpy and you do need a small levelling block. The views were good. It is a convenient place to stay whilst visiting the Wye Valley, Ross-on-Wye, Hereford and doing a number of lovely walks, Unfortunately the road was a bit busy and it was a bit difficult to safely turn right out of the farm drive. We would be happy to come here again. All in all a good CL.

What a shame

Rugden Farm

We have just left this CL having spent 4 nights there. The field is just that, which is perfectly fine but you will need levelers in a Motorhome or caravan. The views are not bad and the elsan point is good with its own water tap. There are 3 drinking water taps around the field. We are keen walkers and although there are good walks close by you have to walk down the main road to access them, which is not ideal at all. We managed it but it's a fast 'drivers' road so much care is needed. Jim is a lovely old gentleman who keeps to himself. We had a lovely time but would not return or recommend because the owners dog uses the field as its toilet, I had to bag 3 lots of dog poo, which is totally disgusting!!!! The noise from the road is, in our opinion, intrusive.

Lovely site, in a great location

Rugden Farm
We spent four nights here, and wished we could have stayed longer. The site is peaceful, with great views and the field is huge so there is lots of space between each pitch. It is a wonderful location for exploring the surrounding area, with easy access to some great walks and interesting places to visit. The owner is super friendly and helpful, and his dog is just lovely too. Thank you very much, Jim, we hope to come back again very soon.

Brilliant simple farm CL

Rugden Farm
For us this is a perfect CL. Mr Powell is a very welcoming and friendly gentleman. The site though slightly sloping is in a marvellous location with beautiful views and distant from a quiet main road. We watched large numbers of rabbits in the morning and evening and really enjoyed a herd of roe deer in the adjacent field at one point. We enjoyed two days of exquisite cycling on mainly single track country lanes.
