Beautiful Tranquil Site

Stayed here for the first time, though we know the area well from having a static caravan in the past. What a beautiful tranquil site within some of the best countryside. Easy access to the site from the M6 following the clear directions in the handbook. We were made very welcome by the owner who showed us to the CL field which has a choice of grass or hard standing pitches all with EHU. As we were the only ones on site for the first night, we had our choice of all pitches. The views are wonderful with many footpaths direct from site. Very peaceful with only the sound of birds or an occasional passing car. We will definitely be returning to this lovely place.

A little hideaway

45 minutes from home and this little CL was just a little gem found for those of us who are in the main self sufficient. On arrival, Matthew met us, he was very welcoming and highlighted the Nature Reserve close by for dog walks and also made us aware of other walks in the area. He then left us to it after telling us to pitch where we wanted. Hardstanding and grass pitches available, typical winter ground underfoot but firm enough and not holding any water. We had the site to ourselves so doggy was a allowed some freedom when leaving the MH for our walk and loved rolling around in the grass which I assume would be lovingly maintained from springtime but being winter had some length to it but was still tidy enough. Site itself along with house and holiday cottages is for sale but owners are still looking after it well. Access was very easy and views from pitch were lovely with open fields, limestone walls and herds of Deer at dusk. Very little noise apart from bird song and the odd passing car. True night darkness also with no lights on site, torches necessary for the last dog walk of the day. Rubbish and recycling point at entrance onto site, ehu available. Water is via a tap at the gate and chemical waste in the next field but readily accessible. At £15 per night, we judged this site as one of our visit again sites, close to home and lots of walks in the area.

Away from it all

What a brilliant site, just idyllic. Wonderful setting , we spent a lovely sunny evening with a very friendly herd of cows for company.

Good stopover not far from M6 and worth staying longer

Spent 1 night here Aug 2017 en route from Scotland to Midlands. It was ideal for us - quiet and good location not far from M6. Appreciated the easy dog-walking on site for early and late walks. Road from A6 is tight in places with caravan. The local area was very scenic and a couple of nice villages to visit. Pleasant welcome and owners really helpful. Laid back farm site with free-range hens and friendly sheep. Clean, adequate facilities if you do not wish to use your own.

Pleasant break

Nice welcome from owners, couple of narrow lanes on approach from A6 but some with passing places. Plenty of local wildlife in surrounding fields and chickens roaming the site. Easy access to local beaches and countryside. Site owners not intrusive at all but are there if needed, toilet clean and accessible, didn't use the shower.
