Do your homework before booking this site in WINTER or pay the price!

We had to leave after booking seven nights having only managed 3. The site claims hard standing, it was ankle deep in mud. This site is ONLY hard standing in the dry summer months. Wonderful views in fairness but it is very badly maintained right from the very difficult entrance and broken pathway leading to the site. I wish I could put photos on here they would shock you. It shocked us. The sewage/Elsan point stinks to high hell and is only one and half metres apart from your FRESH DRINKING WATER, fury moss lay all around your fresh water supply. We demanded our money back and left, we were covered in mud inside and out of both our car and caravan and in such a mess it was not possible to move on to another site to clean up so we had to return home a five and half hour journey. One motorhome arrived who took a look and pulled straight off site, not so easy when you're towing. I am sure this is a wonderful place in warm DRY weather but if you go in winter having read this you have only yourself to blame for a rotten stay. Sorry to be negative about this potentially lovely located site but I am telling the whole truth and nothing but.

Traditional Farm CL

Been to Arnside a long time first time at this CL. In order. Nineteen acre lane is narrow with passing places. Beware. Access to site as described swing out wide it’s a hairpin. Continue through farmyard follow track around to site, again narrow, on site its not level. When we arrived there was one pitch left. The hardstandings have overgrown. Our pitch was sloping but manageable with blocks. Electric to each pitch. Fresh water was next to chemical disposal, but obviously marked. It looked like the cesspit was overflowing into the field and stank. Now the good. Very quiet, dark skies, lots of wildlife. Footpaths from site to anywhere. RSPB reserve Leighton Moss less than a mile away. We saw loads of birds including buzzards and possibly a hobby. Great open views. Yes the area can be busy but we we’re fine. Arnside has a coop etc. Silver dale, is worth visit beware the tides all around. Owner was a bit elusive but we did pay him. I think cattery is closed We chose the route through to Carnforth to leave, much easier. Overall we did like it.

Nice and Quiet, Easy to get to.

Some of the other reviews say the sites difficult to get to but in my opinion it's really straight forwards, we've only been towing for around 6 months and we had no issues. You come off the M6, down the A6 for a short distance and then through a village on a smaller road but you can get 2 cars past one another easy on these bits and then you turn into the farm, the turn is a 180 degree turn but the road is 2 lanes wide and the entrance is really wide so no issues here and then it's just down the farmers track and into the field. I read another review about the farm track being really bad but our A4 S-Line with lowered suspension, boot full, caravan on and roof box was absolutely fine, just take your time. GPS coordinates for the site entrance is 54.177417, -2.779301, Brow Foot Farm, off Storrs lane Silverdale Rd, Yealand Redmayne, Carnforth LA5 9TE If you search Pampered Paws Board Cattery that will bring up the site as well as this Cattery is on the same farm The site has really nice views, good electric hookup and the pitches are pretty firm, they are hardstanding but some have grassed over, as of writing 15/03/2020 we've had about 4 months of really bad wet weather and I had no issues with soft ground etc. Nice, quiet, tidy site with plenty places to walk and see/do within short driving distances.

Arnside at last

Yes, Arnside at last! I have wanted to visit this area for sometime now having heard so much about the area from friends who have spent a lot of time there over the years. We opted for Brow Foot Farm from the reviews and our 'insider' info of Arnside. We were very happy with the site it has all you need in a CL site. It was a little wet when we got there but dryied out rapidly without the grass cutting up. There are many walks if you are so inclined, that you can access straight from the site and the surrounding scenery is a delight. Unlike other reviewers we found the access presented no problems and we have a twin axle over 10 metre train length. The chickens are fine and entertaining. You are after all on a farm!! Arnside lived up too its recommendation and should you wish for more views and challenging walking you are only 40mins from The Lake District.

Lovely peaceful site

Have enjoyed many short breaks here with Richard the farmer, and family. The views are lovely, it is very peaceful and Richard has always been very helpful- bringing us eggs when the hens were laying but unfortunately in answer to a previous review the hens are older now and not laying as they used to! Access to the site is a little difficult but not impossible. There is very little on the roads around the area any way so you can take your time accessing or leaving.
