View on mapCaroline, Dave and their family look forward to welcoming you to their beautiful Certificated Location which is situated only 12 miles from the beautiful historic city of Lincoln and 6 miles from the small market town of Gainsborough. Our site is positioned in the centre of a quaint village with a small country pub next door serving good quality food Thursdays to Sundays and with open coal fires in the colder months. A second public house, serving food all week, is only a short stroll away.
Whilst being in the centre of the village our site is peaceful and tranquil and has stunning, uninterrupted views over open fields and farm land. On site there are sheep, pigs and chickens with the spring months being a hive of activity with lambing and the chance of seeing piglets and newly hatched chicks.
Whilst there is not a shop on site, there are shops in the adjacent villages. There are a variety of fishing ponds locally and one of the last traditional coal fired fish and chip shops in the country only 2 miles away in the village of Upton. Home baked artisan bread, including gluten free, is baked on site on request.
The village of Scampton is less than 6 miles away, with the Dambuster Arms, the RAF base which is home to the aerobatic team The Red Arrows and the Heritage Centre housed in one of the original WW2 hangers. At many times of the year, but especially between the months of November and March, the Red Arrows can be seen training in the skies overhead from our site and other local viewing points.
The historic city of Lincoln boasts an impressive Cathedral, a castle which houses a Victorian prison and a copy of the Magna Carta, the Museum of Lincolnshire Life that has social history exhibits in Victorian barracks, The Collection which is a museum displaying local archaeology and the Usher Gallery which has works by Turner and Lowry. In addition, in the lower part of the city, connected by Steep Hill (which is notoriously steep!), there are many cafes, bars and boutique shops.
