What a CL should be

Peaceful location with lots of birds. Well located for touring the area on foot and by car. Pitches not enormous and access a bit tight but not a problem. So much nicer than a regimented club site. Owner friendly and helpful.

A little bit different, but not in a bad way!!

This is everything you would expect from a CL - toilet, EHU, water. It really is in the middle of nowhere and it's like staying in a secret garden! A little bit quirky, but that not in a bad thing! There are doves and chickens to keep you company! We didn't get very good weather, I bet it's lovely if you can sit out on a summer evening! We walked along the canal into Louth and had a lovely meal at the Woolpack (highly recommend), with a stop along the way at the self service café, with honesty box, at Alvington fishing lakes.

A tranquil retreat

Absolute peace and quiet, you feel like you are tucked away in a little secluded hideaway surrounded by trees. Despite typical Bank Holiday weather provided by the tail end of a hurricane coming over from the US we enjoyed a lovely stay here mostly tucked up in our van with the occasional foray out for a stroll between downpours; the surrounding trees providing useful shelter from the gales. No traffic and not a soul to be heard. Dark skies with no light intrusion. The only thing to disturb is the cooing of the doves. Good CL facilities, clean toilet, waste disposal, easy access water and hook-up. Owner knowledgeable and happy to share recommendations. Only caution is long single track road with few passing places although local drivers seem used to caravans and are very courteous going off road to allow us to stay on the tarmac, this is followed by a tight narrow turn into the entrance.

Lovely 3 night stay

Thank you very much for our recent 3 night stay. Lovely quiet, peaceful site, with easy access to footpath along Louth canal for dog walking, or just along local lanes because there was so little traffic. Intrigued by the garden around the site, as it had so many varied, and unusual plants and trees. Really enjoyed it, and would recommend if you like a "bit of peace and quiet".
