Why stay here ...

My CL is set on the edge of the rural village of Grimston. The site offers lovely countryside views and is only a short walk away from the village shop, post office and public house.

The CL is equipped with 10amp electrical hook-ups, drinking water, and picnic area and the usual waste disposal and rinsing point.

The site is approximately 0.50 acre with level pitch areas. Two sides are screened with mature hedging and trees with the front of the site gently sloping, overlooking open countryside and a natural spring water stream.

The Old Appleyard is host to a variety of wildlife throughout the year, including our free-range chickens Charlotte, Emily and Jane, whose eggs are available for purchase.

Local attractions -

The Old Appleyard is a short drive away from the historic town of King's Lynn (markets on Tuesday and Saturday). The Norfolk Green bus can be picked up at the top of the Lane, and provides an hourly service into the town.

The Sandringham Estate is six miles away, with the house, museums and grounds open between Easter and October.

Fifteen miles north of the Old Appleyard lies the pretty village of Burnham Market, situated close to the North Norfolk coastline with its stunning beaches.

The seaside resort of Hunstanton is only 13 miles away and offers a traditional seaside experience, complete with donkeys, beach huts and deck chairs.

Congham Heath - Congham Heath is a little known local attraction owned by Tilhill Economic Forestry. It is not marked on OS maps but has a network of permissive paths for walkers and ramblers. Congham Heath is a 15 minute walk from the CL past the village shop and public house.

Great Peaceful CL

What a peaceful & accommodating CL this is. Highly recommend a visit. We only stayed 2 nights as we wanted to visit Sandringham which is very near. Great outlook & will definitely put it on our 'return list' if visiting this area again. Thank you to Sue & her husband for making us so welcome.

Always a warm friendly welcome

We have been coming to this wonderful little site for the last 7 years and thought it was about time we left a review. This is one of our favourite sites and the owners are always very welcoming and take great pride in their site. It is very peaceful with a beautiful outlook across open fields. Grimston itself has a local shop, pub/restaurant and even a small caravan accessory shop. It is ideally situated for exploring the west north Norfolk area. We are already looking forward to returning next year. Mick and Sharon Flack

One of our very best CL`s

We have just spent seven peaceful and relaxing days at Mrs Irvine`s wonderful CL. Upon arrival we were met by Mr & Mrs Irvine who made us very welcome. The CL is compact and has a very pleasant view across the neighbouring corn field. The site is peaceful, quite and tranquil. Access, is straight forward and easy . The are many local attractions including, Sandringham House, Hunstanton, Kings Lynn and the North Norfolk coast. Clearly if you have a large caravan you will need to discuss access with Mrs Irvine first. So if you want peace and tranquillity why not try this lovely CL?

Pleasant surprise

We will return here when in the area, definitely recommend it. Neat, tidy, clean, well maintained, lawn and hedges cut, peaceful location. The information centre is a thoughtful touch, with leaflets, maps and all sorts of useful things to borrow. Must remember next time to bring some books with me as the swap shelves were stocked with books I actually would like to read. Thank you the Irvings.

Lovely place

Don't normally write reviews but this place deserves it. Recent stay over bank holiday. Warm informative welcome. We have 7.5 metre+ motorhome and found access easy. Site firm very well maintained grass overlooking fields. Plenty of birdlife species in the surrounding hedgerows and trees,so sitting out was a treat. Very quiet well away from the main roads. We Cycled and walked the surrounding villages parishes and woods. Interesting churches and architecture. Local pubs good food and real ales found in all.
