Why stay here ...

Please note: This CL will be temporarily unable to take bookings until the end of August 2020.

The Old Stracey Caravan and Motorhome Park is a family run CL located three and a half miles from Norwich in the hamlet of Kirby Bedon. You will find us on Kirby Road which is easily accessible and just 2 miles from the A47.

The site has electric hook up for 5 pitches, some hardstanding pitches, fresh water, recycling and waste emptying facilities. At the rear of the site you will find the stunning ruins of St Mary's church which was originally built between the 12th and 15th centuries. The site has been lovingly run in past years and we aim to continue to run it in the same friendly and welcoming manner tourers have come to expect.

There are several public bridleways and footpaths within close vicinity which give you instant access to the wonderful nature of Norfolk. You are sure to see plenty of wildlife whilst exploring our beautiful area. Whether you want to travel on foot or by bike there are lots of different routes to keep you occupied during your stay.

The Waters Edge restaurant and bar is a lovely place to visit, it is nestled on the river Yare just 1.2 miles away, they serve delicious food in a stunning waterside location.

There is a bus stop at the end of the drive giving easy access to Norwich without having to use a vehicle. Norwich is a wonderful mix of modern and historic, it is very easy to walk around and has a river running through it. It has a flourishing arts, music and cultural scene and is home to the largest permanent undercover market in Europe. You will find many museums, theatres, ancient pubs and the whole city has a welcoming, friendly feel to it.

We look forward to welcoming you to our cosy, 5 pitch CL. We have lived in the area for over 10 years and we are happy to share our local knowledge and ensure you get the most from your stay here.

A Lovely Stay

We found this beautiful CL site and stayed for 3 nights, would have loved to stay longer but it was booked for the rest of the week/weekend. The gardens that you park in are absolutely beautiful and a delight to walk round and sit in. The owners have spent a lot of time and effort on making them as beautiful as they are for the campers. It's delightful to sit outside on a warm summer evening. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and helpful with local knowledge. Tony regularly came and had a coffee with us which was nice. Their own garden is beautiful too. The village is small, there is a pub nearby but we didn't go in. There is a church ruin adjacent to the site and the current church is just across the road from the ruin. The church bells ring on the quarter hour but they don't keep you awake at night and you don't always hear them. Personally I like to hear church bells ringing, these are quieter than most. There is a bus stop right outside the gate and the bus takes you into Norwich and from there you can go wherever you wish. We will definitely be back.

A Bootiful CL!

We were made to feel very welcome on this Norfolk jewel of a CL. The manicured lawn is protected from the prevailing winds by hedges on three sides with the view lying on one side across the lane. The owner, Tony, is a keen gardener and keeps the flowerbeds in immaculate condition. The site is small but beautifully formed and the price is very reasonable at £10 a night. It is also extremely convenient for Norwich (one of the loveliest British cities we have visited) and other regional sights. We'll be back!

Perfect CL

This is a lovely peaceful CL with a manicured lawn and surrounding flowers and shrubs. It is ideal for catching the bus into Norwich as the bus stop is immediately over the country road outside the site. We have stayed here a few times and I always phone the owner when we are about five minutes away and he opens the gate ready for us. He is very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. This CL has everything we are looking for.

An excellent CL

We stayed for 4 nights. As others have said this is a lovely site, well looked after, in a good location and with a friendly and helpful owner. The road outside has more traffic than you might expect for a country lane, but nothing like a main road. Take care when arriving, there's a gravelled pull-in area outside the (locked) site gate but not really big enough for long units.
