A true gem

The owner of this site is so friendly, welcoming and hospitable that you cannot fail to fall in love with it. Tiny, a part of her garden, when all 3 pitches are in use it can be a bit of a squeeze, but providing you are prepared to accept this a lovely, peaceful area. The nature reserve opposite is a wonderful place to spend time watching the wildlife. Mobile phone signal can be hit and miss and tv reception can be interrupted by the heavy goods vehicles hurtling passed. Then thing you need to be aware of, as caravans and motorhomes have got bigger the lack of space means you HAVE to be considerate to your neighbours

Wonderful - nature reserve next door and brilliant for dogs!

Other reviews clearly state details on this site. We booked just one night but stayed two as the wildlife park opposite is fantastic. I spent my extra day photographing barn owls, kestrels, tree sparrows, Reed buntings, stonechats, water rails and countless other birds. A choice of three hides or you can just spend all day walking around. You have around 100 metres to walk on a very busy road so to be safe at night take a torch and a high viz jacket - just to be safe. Do not let that put you off though. Great dog walking.

Excellent site

This tiny site is a little gem just outside Knaresborough. Mrs Hartley, the owner, made us very welcome and couldn’t have been more helpful. Although only room for 3 units it had everything we needed. It is set next to a nature reserve which our dog thought was heaven. The site is next to a road which some of the local firms seemed to treat as their own private race track, but nothing can be done about that. The pitches are situated in an area surrounded by trees which made it very private and felt very secluded yet you can easily drive out. There is a toilet on site but with ehu included in the price we didn’t use it. Anybody driving past would not know there was even vans there. Highly recommend a visit if you want a little hideaway but with easy access to local places. So impressed we are going back shortly!

LOVELY

A lovely site owned by a lovely lady .This may be a small site ( 3 vans ) but is always clean & tidy and always a very warm welcome . A bit of road noise first thing and then again late afternoon . Have been visiting this site on and off for nearly 30 years. Lovely

A very small CL, good facilities and friendly welcome, but road noise

This must be the smallest CL we have ever stayed on, with space for just three outfits. The turn in through the gateway is tight, then a sharp turn is needed through a screen of willow branches. The welcome from Mrs Hartley was very helpful and friendly, and for a site of this size, facilities are very good - there is a very well maintained toilet, and an old stable building where we were invited to store our bikes. The site is not actually a farm, but a bungalow. We really liked Staveley (the Royal Oak is to be recommended for meals), and the whole area has several attractive villages and is ideal for cycling. The main drawback of the site was it is very close to the road, which is surprisingly noisy, largely due to Alfred Hymas hauliers, who are based up the road in Burton Leonard.
