Why stay here ...

Welcome to Skylark Barn. Situated less than 3 miles from the Historic Market town of Stamford, voted the best place to live in the UK a few years back. The Bluebell pub in Belmesthorpe is within walking distance from the CL and there are plenty of places in Stamford that would deliver takeaways if needed. There are also many local walks from Skylark Barn.

Local daytrips out could include Burghley House in Stamford (horse trials August Bank Holiday, the house, gardens and grounds to be explored year round), Rutland Water (cycling/birds/water-sports/mini beach etc) 9 miles, Fineshade Wood (cycling/walking/nature) 12 miles, Belton House in Grantham (children's play area/gardens/walks/the house - National Trust owned) 26 miles, Nene Valley Railway (for steam/diesel train enthusiasts) 12 miles, Ferry Meadows (country park with water-sports) 17 miles, Grimsthorpe Castle 11 miles and in the summer our local outdoor theatre at Tolethorpe (5 minute drive away) offers Shakespeare productions.

Skylark Barn is a new 5 grass pitch set on level ground on approximately an acre of a larger field with panoramic countryside views over the Gwash valley. It is a peaceful site with many birds visiting ... skylarks and red kites to name a couple and once our newly planted trees mature we hope to enjoy a few more. There are horses on the approach to the site (not to be fed). We are a child and dog friendly site but ask that dogs are kept on leads whilst on site. We are open all year. Each pitch has an electric hook up and is demarcated by newly planted laurel hedging and each pitch has a shared apple tree. Access is through an electric gate for security and peace of mind. We will give you an access code when you book.

The neighbouring village of Ryhall can be reached by a small gentle stroll across the river meadows where 2 further pubs and a post office/village shop and children play area can be reached.

It is a family run site and we will do our best to make your visit as enjoyable as possible and hope it becomes your personal country retreat for many years. We welcome any practical advice that you may have on how we can improve our site further.

Great CL

It was great to find this newly opened CL and we were Helen's first customer to book for 4-6th June 2021. We would definately stay here again if in the area. We were lucky to have lovely weather and watched a beautiful sunset. Plenty of area for dog exercising on the field. Helen was very friendly and gave us plenty of information on the locality and places to visit further afield. This is a good CL and will be even better when planting to divide pitches grows further and improvement is made to the grass on the pitches. Thank you Pauline & Kevin

What a great find!

Glorious views, and beautiful bird song. Really peaceful stay, we extended our stay as it was so relaxing. we watched several beautiful sunsets from our pitch. very easy/wide access to the site & to the pitch with our caravan. there’s a barrier with a keypad to make the site feel secure. All pitches are on short grass have electric and are very spacious. If only all pitches in the CAM club were this size! Helen & Courtney are very helpful & friendly and they pop up to see you’ve settled in okay. The site is situated on a huge field which is great for wondering round with the dog (on the lead). There are several food shops only a couple of miles drive away if you need supplies. The Bluebell Inn pub has a lovely outdoor seating area, it’s only 2 minute walk away from the site. The locals were very chatty and welcoming. There’s a footpath nearby, where you can see sheep, goats, horses, pigs & alpacas. We will definitely come to stay again.

A real gem!

A warm welcome awaits at Skylark Barn - Helen and Courtney couldn’t have been more helpful. The site has recently been created and will mature nicely as the surrounding planting develops. Pitch sizes are ample and there is plenty of additional space (great for dog-walking). A lovely peaceful location with good access to all the listed local attractions. Ticked all the boxes for us! (& good mobile reception and 4G too).
