Why stay here ...

Our CL is set in a spacious 4 acre meadow within the pretty hamlet of Weston - an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). All pitches are lawned with some hardstanding strips. Some pitches are slightly sloping, and all are equipped with 15 amp electric hook-ups and plenty of space for awnings. We are situated within 100m of the B4368 so access to the site is easy with no winding lanes or narrow gateways to negotiate.

From January 2013 this site will be for adults only. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the site and there is plenty of space for them within the CL field, as well as longer walks on the lead exploring our 60 acres of grassland.

Weston lies at the head of Shropshire's lovely Corvedale and is within easy travelling distance of the historic market towns of Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, and Ludlow. The World Heritage site of Ironbridge is just a 25 minute drive away with a variety of fascinating museums. A number of other facilities are located nearby including coarse fishing (2m), the village shop at Ditton Priors (2.5m). The Acton Arms at Morvill is ideal for a pint and a meal. (4.2m)

The site is an ideal base for walkers. You can explore the Long Mynd at Church Stretton, climb to the summit of the Brown Clee or enjoy the stunning views from the famous Wenlock Edge (3m).

Ornamental wildlife pool on site.

Comes with own barn owl!

The highlight of the site for us was the resident barn owl which made an appearance at dusk each evening. Despite the VERY wet June weather, the site was always accessible, if a bit squelchy after 48 hours continuous rain. Contrary to an earlier review, we found the showers / toilet facilities to be perfectly adequate and kept very clean. Lesley was very friendly and helpful. Since the weather prevented us exploring much of the countryside, we hope to return here again soon.

Let down by facilities

This site has amazing countryside views, in a great location. We were treated to regular sightings of the resident Barn Owl flying very close to the vans. However the facilities are not good enough. There is one combined loo/shower and although it states this is not exclusive we didn’t realise that it was used by the occupiers of the industrial units on the farm. The block is also cold with inadequate heating - the fan heater didn’t seem to be working. The grass had not been cut, meaning it was a walk through long grass to the wildlife pond and the grass around the site had also not been maintained. Sad to leave a negative review as the owners were very friendly and helpful.

Comment form the Club:

Many thanks for your review and we are pleased that you found the CL owners helpful and the location superb. The CL owners have been in touch as they wish to address your concerns as they work hard to ensure people have the best possible time on their site. The toilet is shown as non-exclusive so they are sorry you were disappointed with this. They are transparent about the situation and the toilet is actually only shared with a handful of users on the few units they have. These units are rented out mainly to part-time hobbyists and car tinkerers. They are a very friendly bunch and often help guests on the site by offering advice of things to do and where to go in the local area. They don’t use the shower, just the toilets, and this is mostly only during the day, from 9am to 5pm. The CL owners have checked the fan heater and it is still fully operational. There is a pull switch to turn it on and off and a knob for the heat setting. During your stay unfortunately, the CL owner’s ride-on mower had broken down (a drive belt snapped) and they had difficulty getting a correct spare part as it is quite old. The mower was out of action for just over a week, but at that time of year the grass shoots up very quickly. Consequently, over a period of 10 days the site and the path to the pool became a little overgrown. The matter has now been rectified and please be assured this is not the norm on this CL Site.

If you want quiet, this is the site for you.

Recently stayed on this CL for 3 nights as a shakedown trip in our new caravan. I wanted somewhere with easy access for our first time out. This site is easy to find being about 100 yards off the Morville - Craven Arms road. Access is through a wide gate at the rear of a barn. Pitches are a good size but are slightly sloping so blocks/levelling devices are required. There is a shower and toilet onsite if required. There are also facilities for water and chemical toilet disposal. Each pitch has 15amp power supply. Lesley, the owner is very amenable and helpful and is knowledgeable about the area. The site overlooks a meadow and is extremely quiet. As my title says, the site is very quiet and tranquil. It's quite a distance from any shops, pubs or restaurants but is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of the world.

Easy and helpful

Easy to find, just off from a B road. Easy to gain access with 26ft caravan. Nice size pitches. Owner was very pleasant, got the farmer to cut the field, making it easy to walk the dogs. Water and chemical point easy to use.
