Cheddar Certificated Locations

Cheddar is a large village in the English county of Somerset that is most famous for the cheese it produces. Cheddar cheese has been made here since the 12^th century and visitors can still watch the production process at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company, including it being stored in the caves to mature.

Speaking of the Gorge, this is the other most famous tourist attraction. A centre of human activity since the Neolithic times and once the site of a Saxon palace, the gorge is the largest in the UK and incorporates several spectacular show caves.

In Cheddar village itself, you can enjoy riverside walks, refreshments at traditional tea rooms and pubs, looking around a toy museum and checking out the historic monuments, notably the Market Cross.

As if that wasn't enough, Cheddar is also on the outskirts of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for walking and cycling.
