View and BookThysilldo Farm site is set in a rural location approximately 2 miles outside the medieval city of Wells. The site itself is set in a secluded, peaceful, picturesque location, overlooking Wells Cathedral, which is stunning.
Thysilldo Farm is totally unique in the area as it is set on a working livery yard with horses, so you can watch the horses go by on a lovely summer's evening!
If you don't fancy cooking, there is an Indian restaurant, 2 minutes walk from the site! We are also 4 minutes walk from major bus routes that take you into Wells, Glastonbury, Bristol and Bath. We also have wonderful walks along the lanes and across the fields if your doggies (or yourself) fancy a stroll!
Wells is famed for it's beauty and also for being the smallest city in the UK! It is packed with things to do - from fine dining, shopping, Wells Museum, 18 hole golf course, a cinema, and even yoga classes, if you're interested. Take a stroll around the Bishop's Palace to see the swans, or down Vicars’ Close – one of the oldest, inhabited streets in Europe!
The site is located at the foot of the Mendip Hills, fifteen minutes drive from Glastonbury Tor (or 20 minutes drive to Glastonbury festival) and the Somerset Levels. Glastonbury is famed for it's Abbey, and a rural life museum and the ancient Chalice Well. This is all within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so you will not want for wildlife and stunning views. In fact, there are 4 RSPB reserves near-by.
For shoppers, Clarks village is 15 minutes away with over 90 shops of discounted merchandise including their quality shoes.
We welcome all caravans, smaller motorhomes, awnings, children, and pets (but please keep them on leads and under control and please clean up any mess). The site is grassed and mainly level. There is a hard-standing enclosed area immediately to the right of the entrance. We have a service area for drinking water, recycling, general rubbish, chemical waste point and grey water disposal.
We have Cycling routes, including SUSTRANS route which is approximately 2 miles from the site. It is possible to walk into Wells both along footpaths, country lanes or the main road and it will take approximately 30 minutes.
The site is also 15 minutes drive to Wookey Hole Caves, 20 minutes drive to Cheddar & Cheddar Gorge, 20 minutes drive the Bath & West Showground which is spectacular rural Somerset show. The Fleet Air Arm Museum and the Haynes motor museum are roughly 30 mins away.
Bath is approximately 45 minutes drive away – it is a beautiful Georgian city that has the famous Roman Baths and Thermae Bath spa. We are also 45 minutes from Bristol with its wonderful shopping, restaurants and theatres. Longleat and its safari park are also an amazing day out and all only 45 mins away.
