Traumatic Second Visit

I had a wonderful first experience at this site it was a very pleasent stay on a beautiful site. Sadly the second visit was much less pleasant.  There was an issue with the electric cutting out which is a problem i had never encountered at any caravan club sites i have used even with everything plugged in and running at the same time. When i approached the owners abput the issue i was met with a wall of abuse about how i should run my caravan. Eventually they came to look at the issue with both owners and another man who lives on the site followed by them asking the next door caravan for help also. I was then bombarded with abuse from all three of the owners and their friend and told outright i was in the wrong. The next door caravan man then tried to trip the system turning everything on and it didnt trip! Why i will never know. Anyway sadly this was enough and i felt totally belittled was upset over the way i was treated and then told i shouldn't upset the owners. Safe to say i won't be returning which is such a shame as it is a beautiful site and was perfectly situated for where i was working for that month. I was also asked to leave the following day throwing all manner of problems in the way given the lack of other local sites and short notice to try and book somewhere else. I was then astonished when the overcharged me and refunded me less than was due

Very peaceful site

Lovely surroundings as mentioned in previous reviews, close to Waverley Abbey ruins and town of Farnham, must be wonderful when Rhododendrons in bloom. Saw plenty of wild life including a shy deer that stood and stared at us we we stood watching it. Hook up worked as it's supposed to. Well worth the visit

Stunning site

We have just spent a very happy weekend at Abbot's Shingle. The location is beautiful, surrounded by tall pine trees and splendid rhododendrons. Bernard and Peggy made us very welcome. Bernard drew us a map to follow on Saturday, including several local attractions, thereby ensuring that we made the most out of our short stay - it was much appreciated. We certainly hope to visit again.

A beautiful, tranquil escape

We visited Abbot's Shingle in early August 2016, what can I say but fantastic. Such a welcome escape from larger club sites. If you want tranquility and don't mind a place with limited facilities, then this is perfect for you. Running water, a place to empty chemical loos, and if you elect to park on one of their caravan pitches, electricity. We are self sufficient and were given the choice to roam the 5 acres and pitch where we wanted in the pine woodland that is wonderfully managed by Bernard.

Back to nature

Stunning woodland cl. Used this as a stopover but was delighted at how beautiful it was. In the lower part of the woodland and completely on our own enjoying the natural surroundings along with a cracking thunderstorm. Definitely back to basics but that's what makes this site so special. Owners very welcoming and even drove us to our pitch. Yes it's not obvious to find but just drive a bit slower down this country road and you'll find it. Definitely will return.
