Peaceful spot

Chephurst Farm
Easy to find, this is a nice level site with pleasant views across fields. The owners were friendly and told us to pitch where we liked. The facilities are basic but adequate. There was a nightingale singing in the distance at night, clearly heard in the complete quiet. We found a pleasant walk by taking footpaths from just up the road, which led across fields and through a wood to the Downs Link path, which goes for miles, level and shady. There is hard standing but not a lot of it; not a problem, the ground was firm with nice short grass when we were there.

A good cl

Chephurst Farm
We stayed here 10-17th March 2022. All fine. Does have shower and two toilets but we prefer our own facilities. The field is fairly flat. Horses in field next to us. Unfortunately the field was quite muddy as we had a day or two of rain and it didn’t seem to drain easily. Lots of lovely places within 20 miles or so and also walking and footpaths. Petworth is excellent as is Uppark and Standen House too. We went to Guildford for the Cinema and discovered it has a castle with small but beautifully kept gardens and some lovely little independent shops. Pleasant owners that didn’t disturb us at all.

LOVELY SITE, WILL RETURN.

Chephurst Farm
Just returned from a 4 night stay on this site, and will definitely return. The paddocks and horses are lovely, access to the site is easy and clearly marked. Having a toilet and shower is a bonus on a CL. The bin area is spotless and bins emptied every day. There is plenty of space to park and the site is not at all crowded. Some have commented on the lack of welcome, as far as we are concerned, we don't expect CL owners to be on the lookout for us, so long as there are clear instructions on where to park and how to pay! In this case there are clear instructions in the handbook of what to do and the CL area is well sign posted, instructions are on the toilet/shower door of how to pay the owner and this suits us perfectly. Liz the owner is very nice and friendly. I had to rate this site highly for peace and quiet, however there are still limited flights from Gatwick, we could hear some planes, but it wasn't a problem. The site is close to a number of NT properties and close to the Surrey Hills. I have just one small criticism of the site and that is regarding the toilet and shower doors, they are very difficult to close and lock, maybe could do with a bit of a plane as the wood appears to have swollen! However this is not enough for me to rate it at less than 5 stars. Overall a lovely site, really enjoyed our stay here.

Peaceful spot, does the job

Chephurst Farm
Peaceful spot on farm which seems to be just horses so no animal noise. Field is level grass, a little damp under foot after heavy rain. Facilities are basic but adequate, a shed with a toilet and a separate room with toilet, basin and shower. 20p for the shower gives 6minutes shower time. Could do with some tidying and replacing of damp chipboard but it does the job. Owner very welcoming. Disappointing to see more than 5 vans on the field; one seems to be a permanent fixture plus 6 vans including ours. It's in a useful spot, some National Trust properties in easy driving distance (Petworth, Polesdon Lacey), Dorking town worth a visit.
