A real hidden gem

Upper Chancton Farm
We stayed here for 2 weeks and used this as a base to explore the Sussex area. Worthing, Brighton and Horsham are all within easy reach of the place. The location is ideal for those looking to get right back to basics. I have lived in Horsham all my life and have driven past this place for years not even knowing it was there. Amberley Chalk Museum should be on your list of places to visit whilst you are here also, and plenty of walks to do from the site. The owners are very friendly, the sheep are a great company and overall easy to see why so many people keep coming back to this ideal CL.

Very relaxing weekend on a lovely site

Upper Chancton Farm
What a gorgeous well kept site with very friendly owners. Stayed for two nights (2 adults / 2 dogs / 6m van) and very lucky with the weather which always helps charge the batteries. Great views from our pitch, and used OS app on phone to find three circular walks straight from the site (dogs loved the woods at Washington Common). There are a couple of pubs in walking distance but we didn't try either of them (will next time). We'll definitely come back here. My parents asked why we were staying 25 mins from home. When they popped over for a cuppa they understood why - even though there a slight noise from the A24 it is such as peaceful / relaxing place.

Beautiful site with welcoming hosts

Upper Chancton Farm
This site is absolutely beautiful, the views around are stunning! We were lucky they had availability due to a cancellation as normally I can only imagine a site like this would be fully booked often! It is next to some of the South Downs trails and there are plenty of gorgeous walks. We were able to walk to the next village of Ashington with ease and even had a lovely lunch there. The owners could not have been more helpful or friendly, such a fantastic warm welcome and provided information about which way to go to get to places of interest. We would definitely come here again, fantastic value at £7 a night - clean and tidy, bins, elsan point and fresh water all provided and easy to access. Thank you for a lovely stay

Superb. A brilliant CL and so good we have booked to go again.

Upper Chancton Farm
Just got back from here. Local to us, and we did not realise we did not have to go far, to find a lovely peaceful site. Very chilled out, and welcoming owners. Has a tap, and an Elson point. Lovely walks in all directions. What more do you need. I am sure nothing would be too much trouble. A gem of a CL and we have hopefully already booked again. Just hoping not too many people find this site, as it will become harder to book.

Our 'cottage in the country'

Upper Chancton Farm
We keep our caravan at the farm storage here, so it's a quick process to hitch up and tow to the CL for a few days retreat at our 'cottage in the country'. The CL is elevated, so there are wonderful views, and frequent amazing sunsets. Wildlife abounds - deer, rabbits, birds galore including beautiful kites, skylarks, and nightingales - and in spring there are the glorious bluebells down in the wood a few minutes away. The owners are a lovely couple, very friendly, and helpful if assistance is needed. The site itself is spacious, though a little levelling might be needed depending upon where you set up. The A24 dual carriageway is fairly close, and wind direction affects how audible traffic noise is, but for us it's not a problem. There's a well-stocked co-op in nearby Ashington, as well as a very good chippy, and plenty of pubs that do good food within easy driving distance. We love this site. We got our first caravan in 2011 and every year we get in as many long weekends as we can here. For us it's become a bit of a home from home, and we recommend it highly.
