We stayed in the middle of June 2022 I would totally agree with BB897152F posted on the 28 may 2022 we experienced the same issues.

Think First

Todmorden Cricket Club
Hi, Just spent 4 nights here, 23rd to 27th May 2022. What an eye opener! We knew it is a cricket club, we like cricket and the pitch is far enough away from the caravans to be in the background if you so wished. The parking however, is a free for all. God forbid, if you go out for the day, you cant park near your caravan when you get back!! People even parked between the caravan units, right up next to your caravan. Its a fire hazard!! We were never welcomed by anyone except the guys next door to us. It was them that told us pitch 3 was at the end?? Confusing. Figured out the reason later when we realised the first two pitches near clubhouse are taken all year round and that just leaves 3 others. Cars arrive from 0700hrs in the morning going to other businesses close by. Nearly all go by right outside your caravan so if you have kids..........take care. There is a toilet there and there are 2 showers but nowhere to put your clothes except the floor! Very tight space for showering. Fresh water around the back of club but please note that there is no chemical waste point. The pitches are all hardstanding, not grass, as advertised and unfortunately not exactly level either. The wifi is only accessible if you are in or close to the bar and you can find someone to give you the code! The shower / toilet block is locked and key in box on wall, the code is 1837......I may aswell tell you as nobody else does!!! It was certainly a challenge. I thought it would be ok there Mon - Fri but trust me, its one place we wont be going back to. However, with a little thought and managing, it could be an absolute wonderful place for caravanners. I'm afraid I think they see it as a little extra money for the club and they're not really bothered with you!

An excellent site for a motorhome

Todmorden Cricket Club
The site is extremely handy for the town of Todmorden with its range of shops , market and transport links to Manchester, Halifax and Leeds. Only point of comment is that the water is on a very large reel which doesn't fully drain. We were advised to run the pipe for a while to clear any stagnant water. This proved to be good advice because the pipe ran clear to start with and then went very brown before going clear again. Had we not known we would have unwittingly contaminated our on board tank.

Jiffy the Motorhome

Todmorden Cricket Club
Welcome was ok, just told us where the facilities were. The water was quite awkward to reverse up to. Could probably be reached by the nearest pitch with a long hose. Todmorden had loads to do without leaving the site. Beautiful walks along both directions of the canal. A town walk. Then there are three other walks around the surrounding area; one around the woods behind the site, one around the hills opposite and another to Stoodley Pike which you can see on the right hill in the distance; all the info from the tourist board which is on the main road. An Aldi is being build along the road, and there are other supermarkets in town too. Markets are on most days, beside an indoor market. Todmorden has a railway station and a large bus station, so it's great for visiting other towns or places of interest. Lovely park to the left of the site, which is great for all ages. Definitely will visit again.

Busy urban CL

Todmorden Cricket Club
Have just stayed 3 nights on this great CL with the grandchildren. What great value at £15 per night for EHU, hard standing, toilet, showers and a social club membership for the duration of stay. Also good for the young ones as they play all around the cricket field and the excellent local authority park next door. We did not stay at the weekend when I understand it is busier, but it is a cricket club so expect cricketers and their families to turn up. Amazingly the steward told me that she has had several complaints from CC members about cricket being played and this spoilt their weekend!! We found it quite fascinating to watch the comings and goings of groundsmen, cricketers in the nets, funeral (using club) and other campers. Great to be able to pop in for a pint in the evening and be made very welcome. This is not a stuffy members club and in general they cannot do enough to help campers. Access to Todmorden is very easy. N.B. excellent rail service to Manchester or Leeds within 10 mins walk. Highly recommended.
