Holmfirth Certificated Locations

Situated in the English county of West Yorkshire, Holmfirth is a small town in the Holme Valley within the Pennine Hills and close to the border with the Peak District National Park.

Even if you haven't heard of Holmfirth, you'll almost certainly have seen it, as it was the setting for the long-running BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine.

For this reason, locals jokingly call it 'Little Hollywood' and you can take tours of some of the famous locations from the series, including Compo's house and Nora Batty's steps.

There's so much more to do though, not least visit an array of eateries offering local produce - and a flower shop that is a wine bar by night at the weekends.

You can also browse for gifts at local boutiques and visit markets and farm shops for items to take home.

Other Holmfirth highlights include rides on the Kirklees Light Railway, guided mountain bike rides over the Dearne Valley and the Holmfirth Festival of Folk each May.
