Yet another gem of a CL with added wildlife attractions!

We used this as a convenient overnight stop although longer stays would present no problem – there are numerous National Trust properties in the area and a bus service to Bath is possible. The CL is located a short distance from the A365. The gated entrance is off a short lane but is extremely tight for a twin axle caravan but, once on the field, the large, unmarked pitches are all on closely mowed grass (Keith's ride-on lawnmower collects the cuttings so they are not trodden into the caravan). There are a number of electrical points around the perimeter of the field (which can be re-set should you trip them). A single water point is situated half-way along a conifer hedge. The grass pitches are on a slight slope - levelling blocks may be required. A toilet, sink plus a limited selection of leaflets are in a building close to the entrance to the CL. The chemical waste is located just outside this building plus rubbish bins. There is a picnic table near the entrance to the field. One unexpected attraction were the bantam chickens and guinea fowl which have the run of the field. There are also a number of geese on the adjacent common and lake. Keith had a cow in an enclosure at the rear of the CL which, at the time of our visit, had given birth to a calf the week before. It was such an unexpected and lovely sight to see. Keith was a very pleasant and cheerful owner who took a pride in keeping his CL clean and tidy. In conclusion we would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the CL but give the entrance a wide turn-in if towing a long, twin axle caravan.

Guinea Fowl Magic

This was our first visit to Keith's wonderful CL. The baby Guinea Fowl chicks that wander freely about the site were wonderful entertainment, and it was an absolute privilege to experience them in such close quarters. The site itself is mainly level with just a slight slope on one side. More than ample room for five pitches, and we felt spoilt for choice. Electric hook-up, and clean water facilities. The on-site toilet is clean and well lit with sink and hot water too. Everything you could possibly need, including free range eggs. Keith was friendly, helpful and amenable at all times. I loved every minute of being there. The only downside is it is too far from where I live to visit more frequently. Hope to see you again Keith. Thanks - Jim & Lottie

Yes, we came back again and again

We reviewed Keith's CL a couple of years ago and promised we'd return - well we have been back several times since then although have been remiss in not reviewing again till returning from our 5 night stay in early June. We adore this site and have become friends with Keith and Barbara rather than just visitors. We enjoy both the wild and farm animals and birds. Keith has always kept the grass well cut but has made a significant improvement of late - he invested in a new mower which collects the grass cuttings very effectively so no more treading it into the van. Great move Keith! It really is unusual to have the use of a toilet with a sink, hot and cold water and a real towel on a £12 a night CL. Our only regret is that the site doesn't open during the winter due to potential water logging. As big football fans we like taking the van partway to premier league away games to reduce the match day drive - sadly we have to transfer allegiance to another site in the winter where drainage is better. Never mind, it makes our stays in the drier periods even better and we'll be back there again at the end of June.

A lovely site

We stayed at Keith's well kept site in June this year. It was a real pleasure. We have been using CL sites for most of our 35 years of caravanning and this is certainly worth visiting. It is handy for all the local attractions. Laycock ,the White Horse,Stonehenge and there is local bus into Bath. Yes we would return. Thank you Keith for a wonderful stay.
