It may be rough and ready but you can't beat the welcome

This site may not be every bodies cup of tea but whats not to like. Yes it is hard standing with grey gravel but the upside is no muddy boots from grassy fields. The facilities in the shower and toilets are a little tight for us of a larger proportion but were always very clean. I had not taken in the information about poor TV reception so I had not brought my Sat Box but Mary was more than happy to supply all the required equipment so we didn't miss the Emmerdale and Corry. There were no cost ask for using this equipment and hot water for showers were also free. If you didn't particularly like the Gravel Hard standing there was no real hardship in maneuvering your unit so able to step out onto grass. Whilst there there were 4 other units plus ours and although only 1 toilet and shower never had a problem about use. There was another toilet else where on the site but never found it as I didn't need to use it. My wife and I both love Largs and it was our first visit to the area. We will have no problem returning as it worked very well has a base and Satellite TV as well what more could you ask for.

great 2 night stay

We arrived Friday afternoon pulled in to site field and met Mrs Watson at farm house a warm welcome and told pitch where we want all pitches with electric and satellite cables as local TV reception not good was told if we did not have a sat box she had some there I had my own portable sat kit and it worked with Mrs Watsons on site cables with no problems Largs is only about 2.5 miles from site and plenty of shops and food stores available I see how the Vikings came to Scotland the ice cream and great eating out establishments the town has to offer is second to none Parking can be a problem when town is busy but a wee drive about you always find a space Will defiantly be back to this site the pitches were all hard standing with gray gravel chips quite level in places marked with white chips and all amenities were at hand water bins ect toilet waste disposal across at farm you have to watch the road for traffic on crossing to house as road does get busy toilets and shower room were clean and tidy but a little tight for me but the wife and the doctor says I should loss a bit of weight ha ha on the all a well kept site

A rough and ready site.

This site is rough and ready uneven sloping pitches basic toilet and shower hardly any room to turn very disappointed with this site I like Largs but as there is no good caravan sites in the area I shall never be back in that part of the country.  As I didn't have a sky box we could not get a TV signal or radio station and when it is raining your just stuck in the Motorhome looking at the rain come down.

Lovely Site

Have just returned from our 4th stay here. As it's the only CL in the area as well as the only touring site, there was no option for our first visit. Have not regretted having to return for subsequent visit to home town of Largs. The short journey out of the town, along the Brisbane Glen Road is worth it for the peacefulness of the site. Despite there being non-CL sites associated with South Whittlieburn Farm, we have never found this to be a problem. The actual CL is well laid out and facilities, although fairly basic, are close by, adequate and clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
