Why stay here ...

Our Club CL Site is located on a family-run dairy farm only 7 miles from Stranraer giving easy access to the Northern Irish Ferry Routes.

Peaceful and quiet with exceptional views, this is a nature lovers paradise with a glen on your doorstep, deer roaming near-by, red squirrels and both barn and tawny owls.

We have set up the CL to provide all your home comforts: laundry facilities, heated shower room, toilets, hot & cold water, handwashing facilities at waste disposal area and hardstanding pitches. Three of our pitches are fully serviced.

As caravanners ourselves, we know what is needed to make your stay the best that it can be. Dogs are welcome, of course, they need to be picked up after and be kept on leads around the site but with a 330 acre farm, there are lots of lovely walks in the area.

At the top of the hill above the farm, there are views across to Ireland and you can view the sea on three sides. For the children (and the young at heart), there is a small play area and of course, the opportunity to view a working farm 'up close and personal'. Our aim is to try and make your holiday the very best it can be so anything we can do to help, we will.

Nearby Attractions

The local attractions are mainly focused on nature and the countryside. Whether your interest is gardening, walking, golfing, fishing or simply enjoying the scenery around you, your needs will be met here.

The area has some exceptional sub-tropical gardens -Logan Botanic, Castle Kennedy, Ardwell, Glenwhan & Dunskey.

There are beautiful sandy beaches in the area for children - and the young at heart! More traditional tourist attractions include Port Logan Fish Pond/Marine Life Centre, Creetown Gem Rock Museum, Bladnoch Distillery, Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, Glenluce Abbey & Monreith Animal World. You are also only a 'hop, skip and a jump' from Ireland and some excellent day trips.

The best thing about this part of Scotland is that once you arrive, you won't want to go home.

Claire looks forward to welcoming you to her CL.

A Fantastic CL

This is the best CL we've stayed at in a long time. It's in a quiet, rural setting. Level hardstanding pitches with electric, TV aerial (which we don't use so can't comment on), and wifi (works great). The owners are very friendly and it's an absolute bargain at £12 a night. We can't recommend it highly enough.

Lovely friendly and comfortable site

After reading a couple of negative reviews Im not sure if those persons stayed at the same site as we did. I have nothing bad to say about Low Glengyre Farm, after a last minute booking we were welcomed by the busy working family of Claire and Angus and their lovely children who were very well mannered. Angus, who was busy running a farm still went out of his way to make sure we had a great television signal and loaned us a coaxial lead. We also purchased some delicious home made soup from Claires daughter. What you have to remember is that this is a working farm and you will get the odd sound of a tractor nearby but nothing travels through the CL site and you are left to your own devices however help is always available should you require it. The most amazing thing is the price of £12 which include EHU and wifi (rural so its not the fastest) but you can get a good phone signal on 3G should you need it. At this price and location you would be mad not to give this place a try - we did and we will return again. Thanks for having us. Jenna & Deborah

Friendly and informal

We’ve just come back from a very enjoyable week at Low Glengyre where we rented a touring pitch plus their static for a family get-together. Claire, Angus and daughter Rebecca were very friendly, helpful and generous hosts. A special mention to their dog Bella who (we were told) knows for certain that the site guests come here just to worship her. :)

The site is very quiet against the expected background noises of a working farm. It’s only a short drive into Stranraer for grocery top-ups or a welcome takeaway. There are lots of interesting places to visit within a 30-40 minute drive.

Wi-Fi is free but regularly drops out being in a somewhat remote setting. We found Three mobile signal to be pretty good so we set up a mobile hot spot to share and generally had solid Internet access.

The fully-serviced touring pitch is amazing value. If we had we paid double the price that we did then we might have expected plusher toilet and shower facilities or neater hardstanding but, as it was, we felt very satisfied with the CL site and its peaceful, informal atmosphere.

Taking the experience as a whole and applying the acid test, “would we go back?” we have no problem giving a top rating.

Great site

Very last minute decision to get away from it all,we wanted somewhere in middle of nowhere and this site was perfect, owners made us very welcome, told us just to get settled and there was no fuss or rush. This is a working farm and there was the expected level of activity on the farm but this just added value to our break, the facilities on site we're sufficient and the shower was really good, this trip away has made us realise that this is the perfect holiday for us and our dogs and parrot and we plan to visit a lot more CL sites and hope to find them as perfect as this one. Surrounding areas port partrick, port Logan very easy to get to.Great deal for 12 pounds a night. Lovely couple Claire and Angus and very well mannered children, they came said hello but didn't invade our privacy. Would definitely recommend this site. Liz and Pete from West Lothian

Fantastic site

We booked in here for a 1 nights stay, but it’s such a lovely site we turned that into a 3 night stop, and if not for prior commitments we would be staying longer . The surroundings are wonderful with lots of birds and small creatures, hares and rabbits playing in the fields also we spotted deer in the distance , yes it's a working farm so you do get the odd tractor, farm machinery going down the farm lane but it’s nothing to worry about and doesn’t really impact on the tranquillity of the site , also it’s a farm track to get to the site a gradual incline but easy to drive on if care is taken. Claire and her family made us feel really welcome and informed us about local interest, places to visit, eat, shops,Petrol ect. There is a washing mahine (small charge) shower, toilets, information table, book swop, Elsan, and grey water waste, 5 hard standings with electric , 4 water taps. (Good water pressure) tv Ariel connections (which are all working) there is WiFi but at times can drop signal but a easy fix with a switch in the laundry, The site is hard core with various sized stones with grass for awnings, I’m regerstered dsabled and use a stick I had no problems getting around. We are dog owners and were allowed to walk dog anywhere on the 400acre farm. For the price Claire charges this is a gem of a place and we will be back . Thank you Claire and family
