Why stay here ...

Our Club CL Site is located on a family-run dairy farm only 7 miles from Stranraer giving easy access to the Northern Irish Ferry Routes.

Peaceful and quiet with exceptional views, this is a nature lovers paradise with a glen on your doorstep, deer roaming near-by, red squirrels and both barn and tawny owls.

We have set up the CL to provide all your home comforts: laundry facilities, heated shower room, toilets, hot & cold water, handwashing facilities at waste disposal area and hardstanding pitches. Our pitches each have Water and Electrics.

As caravanners ourselves, we know what is needed to make your stay the best that it can be. Dogs are welcome, of course, they need to be picked up after and be kept on leads around the site but with a 330 acre farm, there are lots of lovely walks in the area.

At the top of the hill above the farm, there are views across to Ireland and you can view the sea on three sides. For the children (and the young at heart), there is the opportunity to view a working farm 'up close and personal'. Our aim is to try and make your holiday the very best it can be so anything we can do to help, we will.

Nearby Attractions

The local attractions are mainly focused on nature and the countryside. Whether your interest is gardening, walking, golfing, fishing or simply enjoying the scenery around you, your needs will be met here.

The area has some exceptional sub-tropical gardens -Logan Botanic, Castle Kennedy, Ardwell, Glenwhan & Dunskey.

There are beautiful sandy beaches in the area for children - and the young at heart! More traditional tourist attractions include Port Logan Fish Pond/Marine Life Centre, Creetown Gem Rock Museum, Bladnoch Distillery, Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, Glenluce Abbey & Monreith Animal World. You are also only a 'hop, skip and a jump' from Ireland and some excellent day trips.

The best thing about this part of Scotland is that once you arrive, you won't want to go home.

Claire and Rebecca look forward to welcoming you on site.

Lovely peaceful spot

Low Glengyre Farm
Stayed here during a wet Nov period. However the Pitches are hard standing and fully serviced which was good. We made use of the washing machine which was a bonus and there are showers and toilets if you require these. The chemical disposal is a separate toilet in it's own room, away from the customer toilets and shower area. We thought this was fine. We also found that the wifi works but tbh this is not of great importance when we are away in the van. We like to get out and about and there is lots to do in this lovely area. We had deer roaming around the site on two occasions. Brilliant. A great stay. Don't be put off by silly reviews.

Disappointed, and don't expect WiFi

Low Glengyre Farm

We spent 2 weeks in Dumfries and Galloway. The first week at this CL and the second week split between 2 others. The contrast between the CLs was enormous. This site is tired. It may well have been good when it was first fitted out but it isn't now. Yes it is in a wonderful location. Yes it is peaceful. Yes the pitches are hard and flat and each has its own tap. BUT... - the advertised WiFi doesn't exist. When I asked I was told that the whole area struggles and although cable has been promised it shows no sign of happening in the foreseeable future. I was promised that the WiFi listing for this CL would be deleted (it is still there 2 weeks later) but why was it ever there in the first place? - the service block didn't seem to have a chemical toilet disposal point. When I asked I was told to put it down the (ladies?) loo. Sure enough that had a sign inside indicating that it should be used that way, but the problem then was that as I tried to empty it my cassette, being the longer type, kept hitting the wash basin. Getting to the rinse hose between the pan and the wash basin was also difficult. This a wonderful area to visit and the site is well located and peaceful. I just felt let down (a) by the advertising and (b) by the tired facilities

Comment from the Club:

The CL owner works incredibly hard to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay at their site and as such would like to address your concerns. Wifi wasn’t deleted from the listing as they now have satellite WiFi, although they make no promises as they are in a rural location. However it is now much better. If anyone has a longer type chemical pipe they are more than happy to show them where the septic tank is if requested. However, they thought emptying down a toilet, was a cleaner option. The CL Owner asks anyone to speak to them if they ever have any concerns as they will always do their utmost to assist.

very pleasant stay

Low Glengyre Farm
Bumpy arrival. Lovely and quiet. Basic site but own water tap which is always a bonus. Didnt meet the owners but we did meet Rebecca who provided us with a delicious plate of local cheese and oat cakes. it was most welcome and Rebecca was a delight to chat to. the weather was perfect which made our stay really quite special. Very local sites of interest, which is why we booked this site. A bargain price in a beautiful area. This is a working farm so farm noise is evident but not over intrusive. I will definately visit this area again.
