Why stay here ...
I would like to introduce you to our Certificated Location caravan site set in the gorgeous peace and tranquillity of The Scottish Borders. We have 2.5 acres so lots of room for you to spread out in and point in any direction of your choice.
From the field you have great views of Hermitage Castle known in history as the guard house of the bloodiest valley in Britain. The site itself sits next to the Whitrope Burn, a fresh water stream which attracts the odd heron. And all in between you have hills and rolling fields.
At the end of the track there is a working farm for sheep, cows and a couple of bulls. We would appreciate all gates being kept closed and if you are accompanied by a 4 legged friend we would request that they be kept in close proximity of your van or on a leash at all times and we ask that you please clean up after them.
We have an array of local wildlife with frequent sightings of Roe, Fallow and Sika deer, tawny owls, bats, buzzards, osprey and small birds of prey, partridge, pheasant so for all you bird watchers out there we have a great selection for you to spy on.
The site itself is ideally located for pitching up and going off each day and exploring if that's what you wish. Hermitage Castle is within a 10 minute walk. Kielder Water & Forest Park is 16 miles away where you have the sky at night observatory, water sports galore along with mountain biking, treks and horse riding to name all but a few.
There is a challenging 9 hole golf course, with spectacular views of the surrounding areas, which is 6 miles away in the village of Newcastleton. There is also a walk in medical centre, a few cafes, a craft shop, 3 watering holes along with a post office and the Bank of Scotland.
About 15 odd miles up the road you have the town of Hawick the home of cashmere and the first Borders Distillery since 1837, Dryburgh, Melrose and Jedburgh Abbeys along with the Mary Queen of Scots visitor centre.
A bit further afield you have Gretna Green which is 25 miles away. Carlisle is 30 miles away taking approximately 45 minutes and Edinburgh 68 miles, Glasgow 108 miles and Newcastle 68 miles, all roughly reached within 2 hours drive.
