Why stay here ...

Westland West Certificated Caravan Site is set in a peaceful location with spectacular views of the Preseli Hills. The one acre site is flat and mainly lawned. All our pitches are hard standing with EHU and room for awnings. Adults, children and pets are all welcome. It is the ideal location to explore one of Wales' most beautiful and magical landscapes.

The Preseli Hills, blue stone country, provide great opportunities for walking, horse riding, cycling, and bird watching. Buzzards and red kites can regularly be seen circling above the site and snipe often visit our fields. You can walk up to the highest point - Foel Cwmcerwyn and access Pantmaenog (12km of forest tracks) directly from the property or drive a short distance to park close to the ancient Golden Road and climb Foel Eryr.

The Site is on the edge of the village of Maenclochog which is conveniently placed within 12 miles of Narberth, Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Newport or Cardigan. The village has two shops, two petrol stations, a post office and pub all within walking distance.

Llys y Fran Reservoir & Country Park is three miles away. It covers 350 acres and includes a 212 acre reservoir. The land surrounding the reservoir consists of grasslands and woodland, predominantly sessile oak. A perimeter track circles the reservoir and is popular for walkers and off-road cyclists - distance is 6.5 miles. Fishing from bank or boat is available.

The beautiful and dramatic Cwm Gwaun is only a few miles drive. The valley, which is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, is famous for its woodland, streams and wild life including otters and dippers. The local pub, the historic Dyffryn Arms (Bessie's) at Pontfaen, which is one of CAMRA's heritage pubs, is well worth a visit.

Rosebush, which is only a mile away, boasts the famous Tafarn Sinc and the Old Post Office. Both offer excellent food and real ale.

Other places of interest include Carn Ingli, Castell Henllys, Beddarthur, Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, and the Brynberian burial chamber.

Peace and Quiet

Site was very easy to find and was met on arrival by the owner with a welcome pack....full of info. The site was level hard standing and grass was cut short...grass clippings had be collected too...always a bonus with dog paws! We stayed for five nights and were only joined by one other . Very peaceful with wonderful views of the hills. The walks from the site were peaceful....hardly saw another soul. A small stream ran near the site...the dogs love to paddle in it. The walk to the top of the highest hill was well worth the effort...fantastic views. Would recommend if you need to get away from it all!

A gem in the Welsh hills

In the very heart of the Preselli mountains of Wales is this fabulous Caravan and Motorhome Club CL. The views from here are only matched by the peace and tranquility on this campsite. Situated down a private road there is little passing traffic; most of the daytime noise came from the haymaking who conveniently stop in the early evening. The usual facilities of water and waste disposal are first class and there are recycling bins in the village carpark. The village has a post office and general store, a recently opened tea rooms and garage facilities including bottled gas. Our 4 night stay at the beginning of June was extended to a full week thanks to some fantastic weather and this amazing CL.

Lovely and Peaceful CL

We arrived late September 2017 and spent a happy ten days on this quiet and peaceful site. The site is just where we needed to be and of course had all the relevant facilities. We are sure that we will be visiting again.

very wet

On arrival we were shocked to find that the owner we booked with had moved so in fairness to the new owners they were thrown in at the deep end . We were on pitch 2 which of all the pitches had the best view but sadly thats where it ends it was soggy when we arrived the hard standings were not really big enough and even with rock pegs hard to get into . The wifi was not working as the new owners had only arrived two days before us which was a pain as I thought it would be working had I known I could have sorted the things I needed to before going . There was a quarter of our awning that was unusable because of the wet conditions as the time went on it got alot worse we had originally booked for 12 days but by day 8 we were flooded out and had to leave im not joking when i say we had to wear wellies in the awning it was ankle deep at 1 end and the awning carpet was floating I appreciate the weather in pembrokeshire can be wet but it was beyond a joke we tried to see the owners before we left but there was no one around .Most nights there was a dog running around in the early hours barking have no idea whos it was so not the best experience . The site in my opinion needs a fair bit of work doing to it the hard standings are not done properly and the small track is adding to the drainage issue the water builds up and cant drain past the track. I wish the owners best of luck and hope they sort the issues out it was not there fault .We will not be returning to this site if you do go be prepared for bad weather and drainage problems .
