Quiet site with the essential facilities

Fairwood Corner Farm
This is a nice and peaceful, gently sloping site on an old farm. It's in the middle of the Gover at the Mumbles end with easy walks on footpaths through woods or along the road to the nearest pub in Three Crosses. You can catch local busses just down the road in Upper Killay to take you to Rhossili, Mumbles, Swansea etc. The site is a short cycle to the off road old railway path which can take you to Swansea, Mumbles, Llanelli or further! Mr Griffiths is very friendly and helpful. There is a patch at the lower end that gets wet and is too soft for motorhomes but he has extension leads available to make extra pitches on the higher ground. Make sure to take your levelling wedges. EHU and water are in the field which has good views over the countryside and the waste water drain is just round the corner in the farm yard. Five stars if it had a loo and/or shower.

Good weather at Fairwood

Fairwood Corner Farm
A warm welcome from Mr Griffiths, who dealt with the necessary track and trace in a pleasant way. In places the site had some soft spots but with Mr Griffiths direction we had a good pitch position, with the offer of extra cable should we need it. The grass was nicely cut and the site well presented. Sanitisers were at at the main points; water tap, waste disposal and black water disposal point. A working farm with a shy but friendly sheep dog with plenty of sheep close by. Very peaceful during the day and quiet at night. The site is well placed for the Mumbles, Swansea, the Gower beaches on the south and the Loughor estuary on on the north side of the Gower. Good weather throughout our week long stay made a good break away and the peaceful site really made it!

Tranquil location on the spectacular Gower Peninsular

Fairwood Corner Farm
We chose this site partly because it was close to a friend's farm, and partly because we didn't want to be on the bigger busy sites neare the coast. Mr Griffiths spotted us arrive and came to welcome us and take the fee. The field is slightly sloping, all grass pitches, and could cause problems for motorhomes in some parts, especially after rain. Ask Mr Griffiths for advice before pitching. There is a very basic toilet shed in the farm yard but it isn't kept very clean unfortunately. We are not doggy people so we were quite upset when a rather aggresive intimidating dog ran free on the site. We understand that it belonged to the owners daughter and was not there all the time. Nonetheless, something to be aware of if you are, like us, nervous around dogs. The Gower area needs no introduction with fabulous beaches and countryside, probably best enjoyed outside the very busy summer holiday season if you are free of to do so.

6 night stay.

Fairwood Corner Farm
Very warm welcome from Mr Griffiths. There is more than enough room for 5 caravans, very peaceful,no road noise at all,I think we picked the coldest week of the year and the brick barn next to us provided some welcome shelter. Its a working farm so expect the odd sheep bleating or collie dog trotting about (albeit very freindly and always happy of a good fussing!). Swansea a 20min drive away, then there`s The Mumbles,Rhossili Bay,The Worm. The Poundfald pub in the village is a freinly pub with excellent food. We loved our time here and would recommend to anyone wanting peace and quiet.

½ Acre? Not really.

Fairwood Corner Farm
Having just left one of the biggest CL’s we’ve been on we arrived at what is probably one of the smallest as far as usable space is concerned. Firstly, the field isn’t half an acre and due to the location of the hook up posts you can only use half the field. With the field layout, which included 2 gates, and with 5 vans on site it meant there was less than 5mts between us and the adjacent caravans. If you can use a mover to face north'sh you get a good view of woodland and have the awning facing south-west. If you can’t then you face a compound for caravan storage. The welcome from Mr. Griffiths was warm and informative. Limited recycling which was disappointing. TV reception good as was 3G on Three and O2. Yet again, we had a dog owner that thinks everybody loves their dog. It was friendly enough and wanted to play but the owner just allowed it to run over to us without checking we were OK with dogs. Owners, please remember that some people are just not comfortable with dogs no matter how docile. Also, please remember that your dog should be on a lead at all times because when you can’t see it you don’t know where it’s messing.
