Delightful Area!

Ivy Cottage Farm
A large, well maintained site with ample space for 5 units. It has magnificent views across the Bristol Channel. Easy access down to the beach but the return journey needs a bit stamina. The site is run by a family team of two sisters and a brother who are in Ivy Cottage and the site during working hours but live elsewhere. A very friendly team who are very helpful about all matters concerning the site and the local area. The directions given in the Directory are not for the faint hearted! The last 5 miles is a narrow road with many bends and with sections where two cars cannot pass each other. The better route is to leave M4 at J47 then via Gowerton, Llanrhidian and Reynoldston. Approacing from the West look for the 30 mph sign on entering Nicholaston; gate immediately on the right. Easily missed! The site slopes and levelers are needed. We arrived after several days rain and could only get into position with the help of a fellow camper's 4x4. Those leaving had to be towed to the gate by tractor, which was readily available on site.

Loads of sand, sea and space

Ivy Cottage Farm
A very large well maintained grassed field. The 5 Electric points spread around field giving lots of space between pitches. Easy access to beach from bottom of CL. A small Cafe/Shop close by in another site. The Gower Way runs close by and easily accessed from the site. a very well maintained and located CL.

ideal for Gower

Ivy Cottage Farm
Changed to this CL site at the last minute, and very glad we did. Very pleasant welcome, very tidy, neat and clean site. Leaving the site is a bit daunting as it is almost a blind exit onto the road. Even though there were three other campsites very close to this CL site we still felt we were away from it all. Yes the nearby main road did allow traffic noise to percolate through but it was not very often. Walks from this site are plentiful although the walks to the beaches do require some stamina on the return journeys. We haven't finished with Gower yet and so will return. If you are on any of the lower Meadow or Paddock pitches and it has been raining, plan to get some momentum up so you can manage the slope up to the exit (or buy a 4X4)

Great location

Ivy Cottage Farm
Welcoming owners, the site is very clean and tidy with the grass regularly mown.  You do need levellers but that is to be expected on a site so close to the beach. The loos and chemical disposal were spotless but would note these are a fair way from the top of the site where the best views are. A little road noise occasionally but not intrusive. Walks are delightful but path to beach not suitable for those who have mobility problems as there are steps and steep slopes with soft sand.

Beautiful walks

Ivy Cottage Farm
Stunning views from the top of this site. The Wales Coast path is easily accessed at the bottom of the site to Oxwich Bay and beyond in one direction and Three Cliffs Bay and beyond in the other direction. Nicholaston Burrows great for the dogs. Some low level road noise at the top of site but that means access is easy. Needed levellers but worth it with that view. Facilities are basic but honestly described. Definitely going back
