Why stay here ...

Minnows Caravan Park is set in a charmingly intimate location, bordered by the Grand Western Canal Country Park and with scenic countryside views. The caravan park lies just to the north-east corner of Devon and has the delightful quality of a hidden gem that has been forgotten by the bustling world. It is centrally placed however, allowing easy access to the many attractions available in this popular holiday county.

Within comfortable reach of Exmoor, Dartmoor, the north and south coasts and Exeter, Minnows Caravan Park has plenty of fun activities to offer the whole family. For the keen angler, permits are available on site for the canal and walkers will be delighted by the 12 miles of scenic, leisurely walks to be had along the towpath - it is abundant with wild flowers and varied bird life. The National Cycle Route is also conveniently close to the caravan site, offering miles of easy to challenging cycling for enthusiasts. Other attractions nearby include a canoe or boat launch and golfers can enjoy evening driving ranges at the nearby floodlit course.

Directions

Leave the M5 at junction 27 onto the A361 dual carriageway (signposted Barnstaple, Tiverton). In 0.25 miles turn off via slip road (signposted Sampford Peverell). In 90 metres at the roundabout turn right and cross bridge over A361 to the next roundabout. The Site is immediately ahead on the left. From North Devon on A361 proceed to junc 27 M5 and follow above directions. If travelling via A303, use the A358 to join the M5 at Taunton. We do not recommend using A373 from Honiton to M5 junc 28.

Fantastic site, fantastic owners

First class site, first class owners. Site is spotless , clean and tidy. Very easy access with a gateway at least 4m wide with a wide roadway on the approach to the site. Julie and David are always very friendly and helpful

Tight Access

We booked this little site for a one night stopover. The location was great and the wardens were very helpful. However, if you have a large outfit be very very careful when entering and exiting this site. We have a twin axle, under 3metres long. The entrance is off a small B road which in itself was no issue, however there are no road markings into the site. You take a left directly off the B road (through gates which are approx 4m wide) then a tight right hand turn straight away to go through the barrier. There is no lane for new arrivals like most sites. Our twin axle caught the gate (which had black and yellow tape on it so had obviously been bit more than once!) and scratched the side panel pulling the awning rail away. It is a tight site to drive round and after speaking to the wardens they told us that all large outfits had to exit through the in barrier. As I say nice wardens, we didn't use any facilities so can't comment on them but if you have a twin axle please be careful when using this site. Another caravanned on the site told us we should have gone into the wrong side of the road before turning left!!. There is nothing on the website or caravan club website to advise caution on entering this site. Our van was only 4 weeks old, brand new so as you can imagine we are absolutely gutted. If using this site please be aware it is tight for twin axles.

Great stopover

Really enjoyed our two nights at Minnows on a fully serviced pitch; good value too! Very pleasant and helpful welcome at reception. Wonderful facilities which had obviously been recently upgraded. We loved the instant access to the canal and cycled in both directions. Tiverton is a lovely town to visit. Good choice of lunch locations; we enjoyed The Flying Pickle. The Tiverton Museum is a hidden gem. It’s very close to M5 which can be advantageous but has the downside of road noise much of the time if you’re sitting outside. However, it didn’t affect our ability to sleep.
