We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Steamer Quay Club Campsite. All the improvements including the 46 serviced pitches are on schedule for the reopening on Tuesday 01 October 2024, however, due to an unforeseen delay the refurbished showers and toilets will not be available until Friday 11th October.
Between 01-10 October the site will therefore be offering a non facility/service point only experience (with a 20% price discount to reflect this). If your booking is affected the Club apologies for the delay and you will be contacted shortly.
All economy pitches are being converted to 46 new non-awning serviced pitches, giving members improved pitch facilities and accessibility. These pitches will have metered electric hook-ups where the electricity you use is measured, giving members and guests direct control over the energy they use. It also allows the Club to set the lowest possible pitch fees. Find out more at camc.com/smartmetering.
Further improvements include:
- a refurbished shower and the toilet block
- new motor van waste points
- new service points
- new electric vehicle charging point
The campsite is currently closed and is expected to reopen 1 October 2024 when, due to popular demand, it will open all year round.(updates will be provided nearer the time).

Steamer Quay Club Campsite is a pleasantly quiet, green and spacious holiday getaway, with serene pastoral views. The beautifully kept caravan park is just a short walk away from the bustling town of Totnes, for a wide choice of local pubs and restaurants. Totnes has been a significant port for many centuries and is perfect for a leisurely stroll along the banks of its busy river while taking in the historic atmosphere. Further up the hill you will reach a place called The Narrows, the oldest part of the town and a must-see sight for visitors to the area.
While staying at Steamer Quay Club Campsite, you are within easy reach of the historic Guildhall and museum. The picturesque village of Dartington is only a short stroll away, and with beautiful gardens, outdoor theatre and a cinema, Dartington Hall is well worth a visit. The Tuesday Pannier market is a convenient location for a spot of shopping - a popular event with locals and tourists alike, the stallholders dress in traditional Elizabethan costume and sell a vast range of fresh local produce. Boat trips to the pretty harbour town of Dartmouth leave from the dock just across the road from Steamer Quay. The caravan site promises a memorable break and the opportunity to absorb the traditional English life.

From A38: exit onto the A384 at Buckfastleigh or the A385 at South Brent (both roads become A385 at Dartington); in Totnes cross the railway bridge and at the roundabout take the third exit (signposted Town Centre, Steamer Quay); in 270 metres (with Royal Seven Stars Hotel on R) turn left over the river bridge; turn right into Seymour Road; in 50 metres turn right into Steamer Quay Road. The site entrance is on the left. From Paignton: turn left off the A385 (signposted Steamer Quay); in 300 metres turn left into Seymour Road; in 50 metres turn right into Steamer Quay Road. Perfect
Steamer Quay Club Campsite
Fantastic location with such easy access to both the High St and a countryside walk - turn right for the first and left for the second. Absolutely loved the site and even the roads to the site were easy. Wonderful location for a peaceful vacation, and very easy with dogs in tow. Will be interesting to return next year, after electricity has been installed, to see if that changes the visitor group.

Good Stay
Steamer Quay Club Campsite
We spend two nights at Steamer Quay Club Campsite. The campsite is located very nicely. The starting point for „Round Robin“ is just a walk away.
A nice campsite with very friendly and helpful staff, we will gladly come back.

Very Convenient Site
Steamer Quay Club Campsite
We stay at Steamer Quay fairly regularly when visiting our daughter in Totnes. The site is very convenient - less than 5 mins walk from the centre of town, close to the river. It is a small site, but the facilities are excellent but a bit limited and well maintained, and the site managers, as ever, very helpful and welcoming

A lovely site, peaceful and quite, more for adults than families, facilities need an update although they are very clean, Kevin & Marianne are great wardens and very helpful. We will definitely be back.
Great Location Highly Recommend
Steamer Quay Club Campsite
This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last , so much to do in the area from River Boat cruises , Heritage Steam Railways and lovely country side walks .
I can recommend doing the "Round Robin" which is a circular day trip by River Cruise to Dartmouth , take the passenger ferry across to Kingswear and pick up the steam train up to Paignton and then join the open top bus back to Totnes .
Totnes has a very good selection of shops , pubs and eating establishments as well as a Morrisons all within easy walking distance .
Something to bare in mind is the site does not have EHU but if you have sufficient solar power its not a problem .
We only have a single 110amp leisure battery and a 200 watt freestanding solar panel and in the 7 nights we were on site our battery never dropped below 75% and that included watching a 2-3 hours of TV most night .
The Toilet block is a bit dated but the wardens keep it very clean and there is plenty of hot water for showering and at the dish washing sinks .
We will definitely return
