Why stay here ...

Set in ancient quarry works and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), the Cambridge Cherry Hinton Club Site has been imaginatively landscaped to create the impression of being in the heart of the countryside while only a forty-minute bus journey to the city centre of beautiful Cambridge.

The caravan park gives you easy access to guided walking tours of the nearby medieval colleges where you can enjoy the academic atmosphere that makes the city famous. Wander along or take a punt on the River Cam to see colleges like Corpus Christi, Magdalene and the Bridge of Sighs. A visit to King's College Chapel is a must. If you're feeling a little lazy, open bus tours let you take in the full charm of the city while you relax. For those who like to cycle, the Cambridge Cherry Hinton Club Park offers good cycling paths from the site into and around Cambridge. Just opposite the site, you can enjoy a lovely walk around the nature reserve and old chalk pits. If you're feeling peckish, it's only a short stroll to the nearest pub and if you need to stock up on supplies, a supermarket can be found a little further down the road.

Great site

Chose this site as was close to home to try out new Motorhome. Easy to find. Usual clean facilities. Not a huge site. Bus stop very close (great for Motorhomers) into Cambridge city centre which has lots of shops. Robin Hood pub by bus stop, food & drinks great. chalk pit opposite to walk round, great for dogs. Will definitely visit again next year.

Time to end the with/without awning (without extra charge) system!

Very busy, so little choice. pity there is the 2 tier, "with or without awning system". We only had a small porch and could easily have fitted us and it on to a non-awning pitch. Friendly, helpful welcome and because the site was also full advised as to which pitches were still vacant. We were asked if we were really going to put an awning up. "Yes", so directed to choose from the few remaining. The site is on an old quarry and is very shady, so choice as far as we were concerned was down to one, a non-shady area, with enough space for van and awning, but not the car or we would block access to another pitch. We were able to park just across from the pitch, tucking the car in behind the "service point." Our pitch provided an un-restricted "line of sight" towards the best TV transmitter, so we were able to get a good TV picture using our van aerial. Annoyingly, we missed a nice pitch by minutes, pity they were not asked the same "awning question", they took the last large pitch and did not pitch an awning!!!! Errrrr! A reviewer notes- no need to worry about narrow roads. Well, Lime Kiln Road, if you are approaching from the south, west and the M11, is narrow. Two wide vehicles will struggle to pass each other. The road so narrow, that in places the bank has been worn away, and the "revealed "gully", filled with concrete.

Lovely smaller site

Arrived fairly late but were warmly welcomed and advised of our allocated pitch as site was full. Nice to have site on good sized roads and no worry about narrow lanes and something coming in the other direction! Easy setting up with nice level ground. Really lovely site with lots of little lanes with limited pitches off main drive which made it feel more private and special. Very nice facilities but some sites down a slight slope so need to be aware of needing to climb a little to get to toilet block. Really liked the site and will return as had a very easy going feel and great for it's access to Cambridge.

Great site

Really lovely site for a visit to a beautiful city. Easy frequent bus service into the city. Very clean facilities and good pitches in a quiet area. Only small thing for us in a low long moho is getting in to the site, scraped our bottom a bit so do it slowly!

Very tidy and peaceful site run by a lovely team

Our first stay at this site at the end of August was very successful and enjoyable. Great welcome by the expert team on site and your choice on arrival of available pitches ensures you get the level of grass, hard standing, sun, shade and space to suit your needs. Not much here for families which suits us fine now our kids have grown up, so the peace and quiet is perfect and there are plenty of walks and bike rides to be had in the vicinity. Nice pub restaurant (Robin Hood) in walking distance means you don't have to cook every night, and there is a great chippy and Dominos pizza a little further away if you fancy a guilty treat! The site is beautifully kept, clean & tidy, and all the facilities are in good order, albeit the showers a little old fashioned. WiFi is a bit pricey by comparison, but it worked well most of the time. Useful to know there is a BP garage a short drive away with a cashpoint and Budgens mini supermarket, all open 24 hours. There is also a park & ride a short drive away giving easy access to Cambridge.
