We regularly review the season lengths of our Club campsites. As such, we have decided to change the season length of this campsite for 2023/24 stays. Please view the updated open and close dates under the 'At a glance section'.

Imaginatively landscaped, the campsite is set within 63 acres of beautiful National Trust woodland. With pitches grouped in open glades and easy access to the fun attractions of Coniston Water, the site offers a scenic, peaceful base for an active holiday that will keep the whole family happy, including its own mini adventure playground for children. Additional activities within the area include cycling, rock climbing, guided pony treks around the fells and much more.

The close proximity of Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite to Coniston Water is a great bonus, a short walk from the bottom exit gate brings you to the lakeside launching point where you can enjoy watching or try your hand at a range of water sports such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Coniston Pier, only 1.5 mile away, offers steamboat rides on the Coniston Gondola and boat hire. Several cafes and pubs serving good food are located in the village 1 mile away.

The caravan site is an excellently placed central point for exploring the whole National Park, with its dramatic combination of Lakeland and soaring fells. Needless to say, the walking is matchless and you have a good range of paths to keep you on the go. Birdwatchers will not be disappointed - expect to have your binoculars in constant use, especially in Grizedale Forest.

Great and Unusual site

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
Stayed Easter 2024 for 7 nights. A huge site but so cleverly designed that by staying in wooded glades you never feel you are part of al large site. Tend to stay at top end of site away from the kids and families wjho seem to prefer to be more towards the lake side of the site. Spotless and clean toilet blocks even though one other visitor decided to take his dog into the Block - not good. Most dog owners keep dogs on leads but some choose to break the rules. Very easy walk into Coniston either along the top path and old railway line or down by the Lake. Great Pub, The Ship. nearby when using the top walk with new owners who are making a real go of things and need our support. Coniston can be busy but it has its charm and it is easy to get away from the crowds quickly when out and about walking.

First stay

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
We were made most welcome when arriving and the wardens (especially Neil) went out of their way to help us. The only downside is that many of the pitches are under trees so when it rains, there is a lengthy period of loud drips onto the roof on the motorhome which is a bit annoying! The walk into Consiton was muddy but not suprising considering the amount of rain that has been around. All in all, a nice site and friendly wardens

Great service from Lisa and Graham

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
When staying over Christmas in our campervan Lisa and Graham were on duty and my wife and I cannot say how welcome they made us feel on arrival and during our stay. They’d even created a Christmas quiz! When by mistake I’d left a pair of boots in a nearby lay-by after leaving they went the extra distance to search the lay-bys we passed heading home; all this in the dark!

Lovely stay and felt very welcome

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
Stayed here with friends and had a great stay. Wardens really friendly with nice walks from site including to pub! Coniston lake a short walk away with easy paths alongside lake - one way to village and other through woods. Plan to return next year.

The best wet weekend

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
At short notice we looked for a site, near to home but with hardstanding due to the wet weather and more rain forecast. We booked two nights at Park Coppice, a site we hadn't visited in years but only an hour from home. We arrived on the one decent days in a long time and were greeted by the wonderful, friendly wardens. In the low season some areas are closed off, however there was plenty of choice of excellent pitches and we found a wonderful sheltered pitch. The site is brilliantly placed for walking - options of all levels either directly from site or a short drive away. We had two dogs with us, but one is recovering from surgery so we chose a gentle walk round Tarn Hows and a lakeside walk from the site - both were fantastic and ticked all our boxes. nearby is the Blue Bird cafe - down by the lake, rather than in the village. This had been recommended to us and did not disappoint. If you have a four pawed companion it is a must as the staff are such dog lovers and they made us feel so welcome despite having "soggy doggies!" We cannot thank the wardens enough for they unceasing pleasant nature and the hard work they put into looking after the site - no easy feat when it was raining so much. We will definitely be back and hopefully for longer!
