Imaginatively landscaped, the campsite is set within 63 acres of beautiful National Trust woodland. With pitches grouped in open glades and easy access to the fun attractions of Coniston Water, the site offers a scenic, peaceful base for an active holiday that will keep the whole family happy, including its own mini adventure playground for children. Additional activities within the area include cycling, rock climbing, guided pony treks around the fells and much more.

The close proximity of Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite to Coniston Water is a great bonus, a short walk from the bottom exit gate brings you to the lakeside launching point where you can enjoy watching or try your hand at a range of water sports such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Coniston Pier, only 1.5 mile away, offers steamboat rides on the Coniston Gondola and boat hire. Several cafes and pubs serving good food are located in the village 1 mile away.

The caravan site is an excellently placed central point for exploring the whole National Park, with its dramatic combination of Lakeland and soaring fells. Needless to say, the walking is matchless and you have a good range of paths to keep you on the go. Birdwatchers will not be disappointed - expect to have your binoculars in constant use, especially in Grizedale Forest.

Lovely especially for an off-season quiet break but with everything on the doorstep

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
We booked at short notice for a long-weekend with the promise of reasonable weather in Sept. Good choice with enough to access either by the Lake or into Coniston itself. Very well maintained we were able to chose a quiet, level, all weather pitch so even with a half-day of rain (it is the Lakes) everything cleared quickly enough to make the most of the weekend. Will definitely revisit with good, clean facilities and very welcoming staff. Both the kids and the dogs loved it too with some time to wind down and just enjoy the fresh air and views.

One of our favourites but does have its faults

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
We have visited Coniston Park Coppice more times than any other CAMC site as we absolutely love the location. The walk into the village is very scenic & the village has everything you could need for a break away. The park itself has typical, faultless CAMC facilities, always spotlessly clean & plenty of showers & toilets. The pizza van is great too, the pizza's are lovely. My only complaint is the amount of do's & dont's & the constant patrol of the site wardens. I know this is probably more to do with the CAMC rather than the staff but they are so strict with the rules you can frequently get your head bitten off if you misunderstand what they are telling you. I've been told more times than I care to mention about not reserving a pitch for my friends or family when waiting for them to arrive (this is standard for all sites & we haven't tried to reserve a pitch) but I have witnessed pitches being reserved & when I asked at reception about it I was abruptly told that if it was reserved it was reserved for a reason then sure enough, later that day a family arrived in a big fancy motorhome & their friends pitched across from them. I had only asked as we purposely pitched where there was a space to the side of us for when family were to arrive later that day. Other than that, this is the perfect place to visit & the fact you can arrive from 10am is just a bonus. I'm sad that the site will now close during the winter as we used to like to come during the quieter months but we will visit again before the site closes in a few weeks.

Dog Noise a Major Issue

Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite
We are in the middle of our stay at Park Coppice and there are many positives to report. Great location with easy lake access for paddle boarding etc., club standard facilities which are kept very clean and friendly staff. Yes, many of the pitches are far from flat which can make levelling a bit of a challenge. However, I have never stayed at a site with so much dog barking. Sitting here on a lovely afternoon, there is an almost constant cacophony of yapping and barking from multiple pitches. The pet owners really need to show more respect for their fellow campers, as this is having a negative impact on our holiday enjoyment. Difficult for the staff to police, so the dog owners really need to stand up and take responsibility for the behaviour of their pets.
