Graciously set within a former garden which boasts magnificent trees, Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite, offers a choice between pitches in open areas or in small groups surrounded by shrubs for added privacy. Driving up to the entrance you will notice magnificent iron gates still bearing the name of the wonderful historic house. Visitors often marvel at the rhododendrons - an absolute riot of colour in the spring. Wander around the grounds and discover interesting artefacts from the former manor house such as floor tiles and ornate railings.

This East Sussex campsite offers great facilities for families, including a play area for ball games. Dogs are also well catered for, with a lovely dog walk on site.

Located close to the 1066 Trail, the area is rich with scenic delights for walkers, nature lovers and those who simply crave a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The attractive seaside towns of Eastbourne and Hastings are just a few destinations that are conveniently located just a short drive away from the Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite. Battle is another small but busy town that is well worth the visit for its rich history - the Battle of Hastings was won here by William the Conqueror and the picturesque Abbey stands to this day in commemoration of the victory. The audio tour of the Abbey and the historic battlefield are well worth including in your itinerary.

The site also puts you within easy reach of the charming port town of Rye, complete with its castle and cobbled streets. More local attractions include the Carr Taylor Vineyard, which offers fine East Sussex wines, and a great selection of nearby National Trust properties to explore. During the year the Battle area is host to many special events, including the Battle Bonfire parade, a marvellous spectacle and prior to that, over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Medieval Festival at Herstmonceaux Castle which attracts visitors from afar - a treat for families and all ages.

Lovely Site

Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite
A great welcome on arrival with very friendly people. Lovely pitches and extremely clean facilities. Looking to return when the huge flower bushes are in bloom - it must look stunning. Wifi could be increased rather than just being available at reception.

Brilliant site

Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite
What a lovely site. Some pitches are secluded if you want privacy. Staff are friendly and pleasant. We forgot our teabags and the lovely site manager, Sam, gave us a few till we could get to the shop. Facilities are always clean. Went on the walk to Catsfield, had a delicious lunch in the pub. Staff there are also very pleasant and friendly. It is also dog friendly. Was a struggle to walk back but we are both in our late 60s. Have stayed here before and will definitely come back as it’s not far from us.

Lovely site

Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite
Our first visit here but we'll almost certainly be back! We pitched on "The Stables" which was a lovely secluded little patch - there are several of these microsites around the site so plenty of opportunity to hide away! Loads of space around our pitch area. Facilities are well kept and clean and the staff are friendly. One of us was using the accessible toilet and accidentally set off the emergency alarm - response time from the staff was impressively fast and they were very understanding of the accidental trigger! TV signal was usable from our pitch, although we found a stronger signal in a different direction to that recommended by the TV aerial pointer app, so do a full 360 sweep before settling on where your aerial is going to point! 4g signal to our wi-fi hotspot was a bit rubbish but we were told that it depends which network you're on, and exactly where on the site you are. Since getting our current caravan we've set ourselves a challenge to visit as many different sites as possible, so I think the fact that we plan to return to this one says it all!

October 2023

Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite
First stay, in October, but not the last! Lovely site, friendly helpful staff and so clean and tidy. Great walks from site. Two pubs in walking distance, one walk to Catsfield totally off road. Such a useful short dog walk adjacent for first and last walkies of the day. Fairly big site but divided into discrete areas so seems intimate.

You cant get a better recommendation than returning for a second stay.

Battle Normanhurst Court Club Campsite
This was our second visit to this site, you cant get a better recommendation than returning for a second stay. Many of the pitches are separated up in to small groups with mature shrubs providing a good barrier between the groups of pitches. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The site and facilities are kept very clean. It is very likely that there will be a third stay at this site and possibly more.
