Too many dogs

Daleacres Club Campsite
We live close to this site so it's easy for us to come for an early season visit. The new wardens seem to be coping well but I did not feel that on signing in campers were informed about the 5 mph speed limit as we witnessed vehicles far exceeding the limit Each time we visit there seems to be more and more members with dogs. This time we saw some couples with two and three dogs. On a daily basis some of these members stopped on the road in front of our pitch to allow their dogs to defecate. Yes the mess was picked up but it's not what I want to see as I'm eating my breakfast thank you. Members children are being charged for on all sites and to date I have not seen any kids going to the toilet on the pitch. Dogs however are allowed on site free of charge and can make as much mess as they like and yap and bark at every person or car that passes. It's time that the club woke up to the fact that not everybody likes dogs. In general Daleacres has a lot too offer visitors but beware its too dog friendly in our opinion.

Found a nice little site by accident!

Daleacres Club Campsite
We stayed for two nights midweek just before Easter. We shouldn't have been staying at this site, l thought l had booked for the Blackhorse site in Densole, (senior and blonde moment!!), as were wanted to see family in the area. And l am so glad we did, its a lovely little site, quite rural and unlike the Densole site no buses nearby, which as we have a motorhome is a consideration. Having said that only being about a hour from home we will take our car as well next time as we plan to take the grandchildren. Lovely and clean and the pitch, hardstanding due to the time of year was massive. The toilets were clean and as a previous reviewer said very dark at night because its so rural, added to the fact as you come out of the toilets there is quite pronounced raised manhole which to my mind is a trip hazard. The warden when we checked in did say people had said it was dark at night by the toilets, not sure if it was a light out or just bad lightening. Lovely washing up area. Nice little playground area for children which is good because there is a lot to do for children in the surrounding area. There was an information room with lots of leaflets, taxi firms etc and hopefully something you wouldn't need but it had a defibrillator in there. The warden checking us in was very pleasant and helpful. My main gripe is there was no WiFi, and while l note that sites are being upgraded it is something many people even us oldies want and need now, but if taking children unless very young tots its an issue in today's world. The Wifi had stopped working the previous week and hadn't been repaired apparently. But previous comments from last year l think its a bit of an issue. The only other possible issue is there is only one shower block and they were shut from 10.30-12 which while l appreciate they have to be cleaned l thought was quite early in the morning. The site wasn't very busy but not sure if that would be a bit of an issue in the busier season. All in all a nice site, and reasonable.

Nice site great staff

Daleacres Club Campsite
We stayed at the Daleacres site for three nights on a serviced pitch. The pitch was large and clean, water taps are not directly on the pitch so remember a extra hose. We were greeted by a lovely couple called Bev and Pat, they were very welcoming and spent time explaining everything about the site and the surroundings. They helped us through the barriers and advised us upon the pitching placement, which is different from any other club sites we have been on. The site is very clean and generally easy to navigate, my only two complaints are that firstly the lights on the pathway leading to the facilities block do not work, the path is old and uneven so some light would help especially for people that forget their torch. Secondly the facilities are very old, they are kept spotlessly clean however they are below the standard we have experienced on club sites. We were very pleased to receive information about the area from the site staff, in particular Bev and Pat who always made time for us and other guests even when they were not officially on duty. There are lots of things to do in the area around the site, we would recommend a visit and will return ourselves. Keep up the good work.

End of season

Daleacres Club Campsite
We stayed for the last three days of the 2023 season, sadly the weather was shocking. It was days after Storm Ciaran had passed through, but it rained and rained and rained even more. The grass areas became swamps and some of the pitches, including my own were flooded and under water, we even had a four hour power outage whilst PowerGen repaired some overhead storm damaged cables. We have made several visits to Daleacres this season, in fact a total of 26 nights, and we have enjoyed our stays immensely. Always clean and well kept and in a very pleasant locality. We have a motorhome but if it were a caravan we would seriously consider leaving it here all season on a seasonal pitch. There have been rumblings that the present wardens may not be here next season, this would be such a shame, but we understand that the burden of the yurts is proving to be too much for them. If the presents wardens do seek pastures new, then we wish them well, however, if they decide to stay on then we will be very happy to see them again in 2024. Daleacres is a lovely site and is well worth a visit to enjoy a pleasant and peaceful stay in beautiful rural Kent.

We have been coming hear for 10 years and never been disappointed, fantastic friendly staff so hardworking, the site is always immaculate and the toilet blocks are clean, (eventhough they need updating) we are in the process of moving to the area so we will really miss coming hear in future.
