Why stay here ...

Abbey Wood Club Site is now fully open following exciting redevelopments. Additional all-weather pitches including some fully serviced pitches have been added, there's now two new-style open grate motorhome and campervan waste points, for easy drive-over waste disposal and no heavy drain cover to lift, and electric hook ups have been added in the camping field.

Abbey Wood Club Site feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds make this a 'green oasis', with tent pitches and pods also available. This site's unique selling point is its location - there are shops and good railway connections, providing frequent services to central London in just 35 minutes, within walking distance of the caravan site. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory and National Maritime Museum.

River cruises operate from nearby Abbey Wood Club Site between Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Westminster, Kew, Richmond and Hampton Court. Open all year, this is one of our busier London caravan sites, and is very popular with European visitors during the summer months. There are good reasons to visit Abbey Wood throughout the year though. The Christmas Lights, shopping at the January Sales, the London Marathon, Excel Centre and the Chelsea Flower show can all be enjoyed from this scenic, yet well placed, site.

Please note: this site is situated within the London Low Emission Zone. Visit the Transport for London website for more information.

Lovely site and ideal for London visit.

A lovely well laid out wooded site just a few miles from Greenwich with the rail station just a10 mins walk away. Good size and clean shower blocks, friendly and helpful staff and we had a good size level pitch. If you're going into London or an O2 show then it really is an ideal base in a pleasant setting.

Great well maintained site.

We spent 9 nights staying at Abbey Wood over the latest Uk mid term break , the campsite was full but during our stay we found all the facilities to be beautifully maintained and clean. The site is an easy train trip into London from the station, and this makes it a great site to base yourself at. We had none of issues mentioned by the previous reviewer, and in fact we’re pleasantly surprised to see that the wardens were out and about continually tidying and maintaining the site. We trained backwards and forwards to London or Greenwich every day we were there at different times and experienced no issues or problems walking to and from the station and that included getting back to Abbey wood after nights attending shows. A great site in a good location with everything you need in close proximity Cheers

Disappointing

We have stayed at many club sites but I have to say this one was disappointing. Site staff were helpful and friendly. General layout and site was clean and standard for a club site. However the site facilities were disgusting. I don’t believe this is necessarily the site staffs fault. In the female toilets every one was unflushed and used tampons in the showers. I cannot quite fathom how anyone can be that gross, but clearly some people like to live like this. We end up using our motor home loo, which was not great with 6 people staying in it. Looking at past reviews the dirty toilets is a common complaint. Maybe these need to be checked more frequently through the day. We have never had this problem anywhere else. I also get that we were in London but didn’t quite bank on the rave that went on all through the night and into Sunday. I site is perfect for visiting London. We used the train on the Sunday. 10 minute walk. Wouldn’t venture in to the shopping area after dark. We got stopped quite a few time by people asking for money.

Great stay at Abbey Wood

Had a great time here, quiet site as well, apart the birds. Didn't realise we could not leave before 8:00 a.m. So had to park up and wait to leave on our final day. So easy to get into London by train took about 40 minutes, will be even quicker when cross rail opens.

Great

Stayed for a few nights so we could take in a show, go to Greenwich. The directions are spot on but make sure you pick up the A201, its easy if you do and a bit of a b~~~~r if you miss it. DONT GO DOWN KNEE HILL. Great team of wardens, all 8 of them. Mark and Mark are a team. Transport to anywhere is a doddle. If you are a wrinkly you can us ethe bus pass on buses but not trains. Royal Observatory is 3/4 hour away on bus. Be prepared for rip off prices for food. Tina musical. Well lets say as it was the first night of the new Tina it was average. Site though is brilliant if you dont park undre the trees. It was really raining chestnuts.
