Sad to see the decline of this site in such a beautiful location

Wood Farm Holiday Park
We stayed at this site in 2018 and it was lovely, so when returning home from the New Forest this month we decided to book another stay here. I wished I had read the reviews first. The site has seriously declined and in our view is no longer at an acceptable standard. The location is excellent and the views from most pitches lovely. The pitches are small and hardstandings are mostly accessed across grass. The site is very steep and may be difficult to navigate when the site is busy, but it was fairly quiet in October so was not an issue. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, we were shown to our pitch by a man on a quad bike who must have been having a bad day. The facility blocks were tired and grubby but we have our own facilities so could live with that. The issue which really made us decide we will not return to this site was the state and lack of availability of the chemical waste disposal facilities, afundamental matter for touring vans. We had two nights on the site, and on the first occasion my husband went down to the lower CWD point down the hill. The decking surrounding it was lethally slippery and he almost slipped over on it, just saving himself. He reported it to a member of the site team who shrugged his shoulders and said the site was closing in a fortnight. We reported the state of the decking as a H&S concern in writing to the reception office as we were concerned that someone could break their leg/hip before the site closed and thought that the matter was closed and that we would use a different CWD point next time . However, on the last occasion we were going to the MSP to drain down the tanks and used the CWD facility there. It was totally insanitary - blocked with only slight seepage away and very unsavoury. We would not go near that again and there were no hand washing facilities nearby at all, and that is why we have taken the matter further with this review. This site has gone downhill since the takeover by the new company and we do not think that it should continue to be included as an affiliated site within the club sites as it is way below standard.

Wood Farm Holiday Park
We first visited here in August 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just prior to the site being bought by Park Holidays and sadly this has not been for the better. The site location is good for both Charmouth and Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas, but the road noise, whilst something that the site cannot do anything about, needs to be taken into consideration for the pitches at the top of the site nearest the road and unfortunately choosing your pitch prior to arrival is not an option. Pitches are extremely small, with cars having to park in front of their units, usually roadside. A map of the site is provided but with no pitches being numbered it's impossible to locate your pitch without the assistance of a man on a quad, this causes a bit of an issue at busy times when a backlog of arrivals start to turn up. The vehicle noise is near enough constant combined with motorbikes thinking they're on a race track. The cafe is shut, not a problem or issue for us as we would not have used it had it been open but again sadly the mobile food vendors that frequented the site on our last visit, and were excellent, have disappeared and unlike many other CAMC sites not even a fish and chip van visits the site. The shop is not particularly well stocked on one occasion they didn't even have any milk, saying that the delivery had not turned up that morning, but no effort had been made to find alternative options to source some. As others have stated, it would seem that they are more focused on the mass of static caravans and glamping pods which occupy substantial parts of the site and the touring side is definitely taking a back seat. Sadly this reflects on the quality of the facilities and cleanliness and I really do think that CAMC must consider whether this site is worthy of being included in their list of sites. I know it is an affiliated site, but compared to member only CAMC sites this falls far below the standards one expects of being a member.

Beware of road noise

Wood Farm Holiday Park
Based on previous excellent reviews we booked a week in September and had wonderful weather. Be warned that the site is off a roundabout on the A35 and we were closest to the road, enduring speeding motorbikes day and night. Go when it's cold and keep your windows firmly shut! The site has a swimming pool which was clean and well maintained and the overall atmosphere is not of a typical CAMC site. The static caravan holiday park is the core business of the owners. There are a number of keen club supporters who come back year after year but for me it was not value for money.

Disappointing return visit

Wood Farm Holiday Park
This is the third year we have visited Wood Farm and it has definitely gone rapidly down hill in terms of cleanliness. We booked a premium pitch and discovered the drain was blocked to the brim and overflowing and the ptich was full of debris and cigarette ends.. The drain was cleared as soon as we notified staff but was lef in a disgusting state. The shower block near us was disgraceful. It looked as if he had not seen a clean in weeks and debris and old filth and dust was collected in corners and behind doors. We saw no evidence of cleaning over the Bank holiday weekend . The showers were mouldy and filthy and needless to say we used our own facilities! This has been reported to the Caravan Club with photos and I hope they make a speedy visit to the site! This was extremely disappointing as we have been stayimg at Wood farm over previous years as a treat for our grandson. Will sadly not be returning.

Good location

Wood Farm Holiday Park
Stayed here two nights in our motorhome. Good facilities, clean and well maintained. Excellent staff all of whom were very pleasant, helpful and efficient. We would not normally stay at sites like this but chose this one for the location as its possible to walk into Lyme and Charmouth (although hilly). It was clear from the map that it was near a main road but even so the noise levels from road were fine and otherwise all very quiet and not busy.
