There are several pubs within a 2 mile radius (a lovely walk on a summers evening) and a short drive will bring you to the lively towns of Bath and Bristol. The Roman, Regency and 20th century Bath being a special favourite for visitors touring in Wiltshire. Still famous as a spa, you can take to the waters and literally soak yourself in history. With winding streets and pretty listed buildings, Frome is about 15 minutes from the site. Directions

Follow sat nav to Longleat Tavern ( Postcode BA12 7PH) then follow the brown tourist signs to the site. Alternatively, turn left off the A36 Warminster bypass (Salisbury - Frome) at the roundabout onto the A362 (signposted Frome). In about 0.5 mile at the roundabout take the A362 (third exit) to Frome. After 2.25 miles turn into Lane End next to the Longleat Tavern public house. Continue past the Safari Park Entrance and Stalls Farm before turning left again. The site entrance is 200 metres on left. This is the only permitted entry route for caravans and motorhomes. Please note that estate routes may change in the case of a special event. Note: When using sat nav for directions to the site, please use the postcode BA12 7PH ( pub at Lane End on the A362), and follow the brown direction signs to site. If coming from the Warminster direction on the A362 please do not attempt to take the first left after the Royal Oak pub as this lane is far too narrow.

Superb site.

We visited this site in May 2019. We came to visit Longleat Park and house. The whole site was spotlessly clean. The wardens were possibly the most helpful wardens I’ve ever met. They helped us with taxis to a nearby pub and were brilliant on arrival. They kept a surprise from my wife while we checked in as she didn’t know we were meeting friends. We heard the sea lions and the lions in the evening. The site and the Safari Park are so good we’re returning in a weeks time with different friends.

Regular Pass Holder

Wonderful site and facilitates that provides easy access to all that is Longleat. Regular and annual events are within a gentle short walk from the site which is ideally located to support whole family entertainment. All the site facilities are very good with cleanliness being the order of the day. Will continue to visit for many years to come!

Great experience at the Safari Park

We went to this site specifically to visit the Safari Park and it didn't disappoint. We should have booked our tickets in advance through the Club Website, but I missed this point and had to book it the night before through my phone. This wasn't easy as the phone signal is quite poor there. It's a very simple walk from the site to the Safari with no need to take your car. You can take the Bus Trip around the park, which only costs £5 per person with excellent commentary from the driver. The damage done to the cars by the monkeys was quite shocking but great fun to watch from the safety of the bus. The site facilities are very clean and the wardens work hard to achieve this - although they could be a bit more friendly as they go about their daily tasks. National Trust is well represented in this area. I would recommend Stourhead which is beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets in the surrounding towns. You are unlikely to go hungry. We would have no problem in recommending this site to our friends.

Fabulous week

Our first visit to Longleat and we came specifically to see the Sky Safari balloon festival on 14/9/2019. I had recently suffered an illness and this was our first holiday since then and the wardens and assistants could not have been more helpful offering to help us pitch up and also offered to help out the awning up, fortunately we managed on our own but were grateful of the offer. The site is lovely with lots of trees and the sounds of animals from the Safari Park next door was certainly interesting. Apart from a couple of days the weather was excellent. We met some friends on site from Twitter and had a great time, I love the site apart from the poor phone and data signal all was good, toilets were immaculate as were the grounds. A few idiots ignoring the speed limits failed to spoil it for us. The Sky Safari was a fantastic day we went in around 0700 to watch the mass ascension and then went back to the van for breakfast. We returned to the park around 11.00 and did the touristy stuff returning once again to the caravan for evening meal. Going back to the park around 18.30 for the Light Show where the balloons were tethered down and lit up in time to the misc it was incredible a point confirmed by 11,000 visitors in the park on the day. The beauty of being on the caravan site was being able to walk back to site and not get stuck for hours exiting car parks, we had an amazing time and wanted to thank Gail & Mark, Deb & Steve and Kay & Stuart the staff for helping us both to have an amazing week, we will definitely return next year if not before.

Great Site but...

Been to the Longleat site many times, facilities are always clean - but maybe in need of an update as mentioned in other reviews. Site Wardens are always friendly and welcoming, no issues with checking in. What is letting the site down is the behaviour of others: 2 (or more) cars parked on pitches Kids on Bikes \ Scooters racing around the site with no thought to others, riding across pitches, in between caravans. Speed limits....the speed some of the Campers seem to drive around is unbelievable for a campsite...and some of the Caravans leaving are not much better ! Cars taking no notice of the one-way system, just to get to their pitch that few minutes quicker. I know the wardens are busy, but perhaps there should be a way of issuing warnings to members that flout the rules, making the site dangerous for others. Apart from that - Great site - Perfect for Longleat !
