From the A720: Exit right at Gogar roundabout (signposted City Centre, A8). In about 0.25 miles turn left onto the A902 (signposted Forth Road Bridge). In 1.5 miles turn right at Barnton junction traffic lights. In 1.75 miles at Blackhall junction traffic lights fork left onto Telford Road (signposted Leith, Granton, A902). In about 1.25 miles at Crewe Toll roundabout turn left (signposted Davidson's Mains, B9085). At T-junction (past bridge) turn right at traffic lights signposted Granton, Newhaven, Davidson's Mains. At next traffic lights turn left (signposted Davidsons Mains, Silverknowes). In 0.5 miles at roundabout turn right into Marine Drive. Site on the left in 0.5 miles. From the M9 continue onto the A8 to Gogar roundabout; then as above. From the A90 continue at Barnton junction traffic lights then as above.
Due to the new road layout - please do not follow your Sat Nav for the last part of your journey. Silverknowes Road alongside the Golf course is now a bus lane, please do not use this road. If you are approaching Silverknowes from Lauriston Farm Road, please take the second exit on the roundabout, along Muirhouse Parkway. At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Marine Drive, following this for approximately 1.5miles and the site entrance is on your left.

Great site for visiting Edinburgh
Edinburgh Club Campsite
Really good location, easy drive to Edinburgh city where you can park outside pay zone at west end and get the bus or tram. Handy to get to Fife or Falkirk.
Planes are noisy but you soon ignore them.
Spotless toilets and huge pitches.

Edinburgh Club Campsite
We stayed for a full week earlier this month. The site team are the friendliest we've encountered recently, and they run an efficient and busy site. We travelled into the city every day by bus (£2 per adult is the maximum fare) and found it a good reliable service. the 3/5 rating for "peace and quiet" is not a criticism - it's a reflection of the background noise ... but don't let it put you off. The current building work took place during the day when we were out, but we were unprepared on the first night by the sound of planes landing at Edinburgh airport. We always keep some cheap foam earplugs in our caravan and put them in for nights 2 to 7 and slept soundly. It's all about preparation!
The wardens couldn't have been more helpful, always willing to stop, chat, give advice and generally giving us a brilliant impression of the team and the site. We didn't take bikes, but next time we will and will definitely be using the free bike lockers. It is a "city" site, similar to Abbey Wood in London where it's surrounded by housing that's probably described as potentially deprived and that sometimes mean a higher crime area. But the caravan site team have joined forces with a nearby foodbank which was an excellent idea for us to "give back" a little to the local community. A real positive, well done.
Via the bus and car there's access to city based activities (the Botanic Garden is free and is excellent) and also a short hop to more rural parts where there is plenty of walking. Edinburgh parkrun is very close and we went on the Saturday morning, enjoying the vibe at the brilliant cafe on the promenade near Cramond. There was live jazz which surprised us!
So our advice is don't hesitate in booking this site. Stay a while and explore the city and surrounding area - it's a long way for even those of us in the north of the country, but is well worth the trip.

Regularly come to Edinburgh to visit our son. The wardens are always amazing and very friendly and helpful. This year they have work on the site to improve and upgrade it which we didn't realise until we arrived perhaps website could mention it. It would not have stopped us using site as its location is ideal and as there is so much to do we rarely stay on site for long

Actual Factual Review
Edinburgh Club Campsite
The site is great for visiting Edinburgh. It is only a 25 minute drive owing to the 20mph limits. We had an excellent time at the Fringe festival and the many attractions of Edinburgh. The site is perfectly placed for the city.
Unfortunately, pitches 19 to 28 have a real problem with the building works right at the side. Ground works are really noisy and start at 7.30 in the morning and end in our experience at 6pm Monday to Friday. There is no opportunity to enjoy your pitch as JCBs are digging and other large work vans are removing soil and depositing it behind other pitches.
We tried to move but there was no escape the disruption is widespread on one side of the site. It’s a shame that the other side of the site is under development as it might be less noisy in that area further away from the building works.
The staff were really lovely and can’t help the situation but there should be a warning on the main website so that members can decide if they want to visit or not knowing the true facts.
There is building work further down on Marine Drive too and many parked vehicles where workers park so it did make it difficult negotiating and will be difficult if you have a large motorhome.
The council needs to tidy up the walkways of marine drive and perhaps plan to do this after building works have culminated but this is apparently two years in the future. It has the potential to be lovely down towards the sea front. Let’s see what happens we will be back in a couple of years time when everything settles down. The site was tidy but we use our own facilities so can’t comment on the wait times suggested in other posts.
Factual Review
Edinburgh Club Campsite
We stayed at this site for four nights from 6/8/24 to 10/8/24, two adults and two children, as we had booked tickets for the Tattoo and the Castle. The site is well-located for Edinburgh City Centre, just a 30 minute bus ride (20 minute walk to bus stop). You can also drive which takes around 30 minutes due to the 20mph speed limits and one-way systems in place.
To correct some of the previous, unfair and factually incorrect reviews:
1. There is litter on the pavements outside the site (not the site's fault or issue) but no more than you would find anywhere else in a City in the UK. The same goes for the dog mess which is not that bad. Some people just like to over-exaggerate the truth. The site itself is very clean and tidy.
2. Bike lockers, in my opinion, are a good thing. Why would anyone make this out to be a negative? They are provided free of charge!
3. Key pad on toilet doors, again why is this a negative? Just stops unwanted visitors from being able to use them. Everyone with a genuine booking is provided with the code and we've stopped on other sites that have the same approach. Some people baffle me!
4. In the four days we stopped onsite, we never experienced any queues for the toilets or the washing up facilities. If someone waited 30 minutes, they must have fallen asleep in what small queue they were in and have people move past them. There were queues for the showers, but no-where near 30 minutes. And if waiting is an issue, just come back at another time!
5. The toilets and showers were not over-used at all. The site clean them more regularly due to the other toilet block being closed for refurbishment. We have stopped on other sites where there is only one block for the same number of pitches so not really an issue.
6. We experienced no security issues at all onsite. In fact, during our stay, the site were having some new entrance barriers fitted. Again, a real positive.
7.Someone else has stated that the approach road is a building site. This is not true at all. There are building sites off the approach road, the road itself is not a building site.
All in all, we had a good stay and would return and recommend to others. Yes, the site is on a flight path but there is so much to do that you tire yourself out and this is no problem at all if you have a decent pillow.
Some people just like a moan but their reviews are factually incorrect so don't take any notice. Most have said that they wouldn't be returning, which is a good thing because they're the moaning, boring farts that you wouldn't want to be sharing your holiday with anyway.
Hopefully the site team bid them Good Riddance so the rest of us can enjoy this site again without their presence.
