Why stay here ...

Situated just north of Brora on the east coast of Sutherland, Brora Club Site is set in a sheltered saucer of land with pretty views of the surrounding countryside and just 300 yards from a sandy beach. You can play golf directly from the caravan site and use the course as your pathway to the sea.

The site offers plenty of attractions for the whole family. Birdwatchers will be in their element - there are even Arctic Tern nesting just above the beach waterline. Those who enjoy water activities will have a choice of the loch or the sea for either swimming or fishing. The caravan park is an ideal place to unwind - you can lose track of time while watching birds, seals, dolphins and deer. The village of Brora is only a couple of miles away and has shops and a couple of dining options, and you can walk further down the coast to Golspie with additional eating and drinking establishments.

To fully take in the spectacular views of the region you can walk, drive or cycle along quiet routes to discover the many picturesque lochs and mountains. The single track rail journey to Wick is a scenic must and the Orkney Islands beckon with day trips from John O'Groats at Brora during the summer.

A nice location by the beach

We felt this site was an ideal location although the bridge you need to cross to get to the site is narrow it is fine if you take it slowly. We were surprised that the Club hadn't contacted those who had booked at the time we stayed to alert members that the access road following the bridge was being dug up at the time for a new water main to say that it was tight was an understatement. With only boards across holes and barriers quite close as you passed, plus the workmen were continually having to move diggers and vehicles for us to pass! We decided to leave before 7 am on our day of departure in order to be away before the workmen started. Overall a nice site and peaceful - would we stay there again probably not because of the access and the thought of your caravan being hit by a stray golf ball!

Broken Window

i have to point out that some of the pitches are alongside the 12th hole of Brora golf club and there is a risk of your caravan being hit by a stray golf ball as we found out. A golf ball hit the front side window of our 3 month old Bailey Cadiz leaving a hole the size of a fist in the outer skin of the double glazed unit.We are claiming on insurance but may have to pay £200 excess. Have been informed by insurance company that they will only try to retrieve this money if they can prove negligence against the golfer responsible, and that could be hard to prove.Total cost of repair is over £400.

Beautiful Brora

This was our second visit and already planning the 3rd. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The homemade scones were a treat. The local fish van comes on a Wednesday morning and the fish was delicious. Walking over the golf course to a beautiful sandy beach is an added bonus.

Perfect site and surroundings

Second visit to this wonderful site near Brora. Site nice and peaceful, friendly owners, facilities good and spotlessly clean and the area is lovely to explore. Great eating places in Brora, including the Indian restaurant, and dog friendly pubs. Excellent fish and chips at Helmsdale too. Lots of good walks, a lovely long stretch of beach and plenty to see in this lovely area. We will no doubt be back for our third visit soon.

highland Adventure

Spent a few days th Brora on our little Highland Adventure. The wardens were very welcoming and informative. Had a very nice bike run on a quiet back road just alonng from the site. Also a very good walk in to Brora itself along the golf course. In Brora we found an excellent coffee shop for a snack and a lovely small Coop for any required provisions. Will definitely return.
