Happy anniversary to the Club! We've been sharing our passion for the great outdoors with you and inspiring adventures for 112 years. Here are some of our top moments from our long history:

  • The Club is founded in 1907 following inspiration from William Gordon Stables who built the first leisure touring caravan, the Wanderer.
  • One of the first Club rallies takes place in Ockham in 1908
  • The first Sites Directory and Handbook is published in 1936
  • And of course we can't forget the launch of Club Together in 2012!

What are your favourite moments from your touring history? Comment and share your photos below...

Did the Caravan & Motorhome Club just start the other year? 🙄

Got a feeling your spot on there MM.

So that would make this the 2nd anniversary. Wonder where the other 110 are from?

The registered name is still The Caravan Club Ltd, CMC is just a trading name. So the Club is indeed 112 yrs old. The Scout Association is also 112 yrs old, but began as the Boy Scout Association, a title not used since 1966, but it is still the same organisation.

The club was only 62 when I first went caravaning, if memory serves it was to a field by Llangorse Lake so we could go sailing.  Happy anniversary to the club

I'll try to remember this thread and resurrect it in 38 years, assuming that the Club is spared of course innocent
