We visited Interlaaken stayed at Lazy Rancho 3 years ago and had an amazing holiday. Have decided on similar holiday this year in June and would welcome suggestions for similar surroundings in either Austria or Switzerland. We like walking and cycling but only really on flat!

All suggestions about best area most welcome. Thanks

A third alternative!

Have a look at the website for Camping Mals. It's neither in Austria nor Switzerland, but just a few miles over the border from both of them -  and actually in the German speaking part of the Italian Alps - the Sud Tirol.

Would recommend Grubhof. Visited last year as part of a CC tour. For facilities the best site we have every visited. No pool but easy walking or cycling into Lofer and surrounding villages, handy for Saltsburg, Innsbruck, etc

Difficult choice re the countries , for me Austria just edges it. For a site in Austria have a look at the sites near Mondsee , I will look out for the name shortly, not too far from St Wolfgang for a trip , of course in these areas with mountains you do get hills LOL, bet you knew that. There is also camping Natterersee not far from Innsbruck.

Austria to me is a wonderful country to visit and my favourite having visited 14 in Europe with the caravan.  It is very beautiful, the inhabitants are the friendliest I have met and love the Brits and love to speak English.  The Campsites we have used are 2nd to none.  It is a spotlessly clean and organised country and yes one of the Cheapest in Western Europe for Fuel, Food, Eating Out and Clothing.

There are several different areas to visit.  If you need any more info just ask be pleased to help.

For info and lots of photo's go to joysofeuropeancaravanning.co.uk

We have stayed in Switzerland for one holiday and driven through a couple of times by other means. We have visited Austria much more frequently and our preference is Austria. We were there last year and went as far as Vienna, in fact we did a complete circuit of Austria.

Dianne

I too am open to suggestions for somewhere to spend a few days in early October, ideally not too far off the through route from Slovenia to Germany.

I have struggled a bit finding open sites after the 30th of September

Thanks

David

Here are 3 but not really on your way home.

This might be nearer to your route home never been there but know folks who have and say it is excellent.  Not sure if it is ACSI as others are.

If you were coming home via Constance and Black Forest I could give you another one in Austria.
