Our membership is up for renewal soon I just cannot see the point in doing it at this point in time. The last time we were away on a site was September and at this time we do not know when the next time will be.Any one got any thoughts on this ?

there's another thread running that comments on this .... there are those that think the club need supporting with our subs even though we are very limited in the sites we can use and others that have cancelled or just not renewed and feel the subs are best left in their own pocket.

I haven't used a club since 2019 (with a caravan) so I could say that this year's membership has been wasted but when all this is over I want to return to using club sites and if that costs £1 a week then so be it. In reality membership has cost me nothing over the years anyway.

It's really up to everyone to decide what is best for them.

Depends on how many members choose to remain in the UK or venture further afield. If it’s the former, then based on this years experience, there is insufficient capacity to meet the expectations of many members. However, in a ‘normal’ year that’s less of a problem.

Just take a break🤷‍♀️ See how things go, you can renew whenever you want with a simple phone call. We had four months break, had been Members for 27 consecutive years. The sky hasn’t fallen in, the Club is still here. All depends how valuable your Membership is to you. We rejoined September to use CLs.

Firstly you need to consider whether you have any Club services like insurance which may come up for renewal any time soon which you wish to keep running. Not being a member means that you can't book any sites. If those two things are not a determining factor then what is to stop you. All I would say is that if the gap in membership is only going to be a few months and you want to rejoin you have all the hassle of setting up a new membership for the sake of a few pounds saving? Obviously none of us know when things will get back to normal and the way things are going currently it could be well into 2021 before there are signs of that.

not sure i know just how much the membership is just now to the nearest pound, but i know it is not a significant amount spaced out over 12 months so not a problem for me to remain a member.

are there any sites available to book considering almost everywhere is tier 3 or 4? And as for hassle in re-joining .... there was none when I re-joined.

Maybe so but it really depends on what the OPs plans are.

If he/she wants to holiday from Summer into Autumn and likes club sites then they won't be able to prebook if a non member. After all the vaccine should have been administered to most of those tgat want it by early Summer.

So does he/she need to make plans now or just wing it later?

Anyway I wouldn't ask anyone out there to make a financial decision of this small magnitude for me. I haven't had anything from National Trust or RSPB or CADW or Norfolk Wildlife Trust etc this year. No visits but I'll renew them all. It's a personal choice.
