Our membership is up for renewal soon I just cannot see the point in doing it at this point in time. The last time we were away on a site was September and at this time we do not know when the next time will be.Any one got any thoughts on this ?

Maybe so but it really depends on what the OPs plans are.

If he/she wants to holiday from Summer into Autumn and likes club sites then they won't be able to prebook if a non member. After all the vaccine should have been administered to most of those tgat want it by early Summer.

So does he/she need to make plans now or just wing it later?

Anyway I wouldn't ask anyone out there to make a financial decision of this small magnitude for me. I haven't had anything from National Trust or RSPB or CADW or Norfolk Wildlife Trust etc this year. No visits but I'll renew them all. It's a personal choice.

but at least they made the offer of an extension

But one had to apply so not an automatic blanket extension. And it was aimed at those where struggling. Different to what is being asked of the club?

It's a pound a week that wouldn't by half a pint of beer and you be lucky to make that last half an hour so it not that much in the grand scheme of things so I'd just pay up and hopefully we and enjoy next year when the vaccine. Kicks in

which is more or less what I said ... ie NT made the offer of an extension ... I never said it was an automatic extension. And for the record, I did not claim it.

The general comments of the club were that the club offered SFA

Isn't the OP questioning whether or not to renew on the basis of not bring able to use sites?

Nothing to do with disappointment at lack of any offer from the club to extend membership.  undecided

You just didn't give all the details, like having to fill in an application form or who it was aimed at and why, so I gave a fuller picture.

I gave just t the details needed .... the NT made an offer to extend ... the CC didn't. No more needed to be said.

Actually they didn't make an offer as it was the National Trust of Scotland as that was where I was going. Hoping to go back this year so will renew but as I said previously it's my personal choice whether I do or don't. Merely used it as an example, along with several others, that didn't offer any recompense for this awful year and I didn't expect any.

Only the OP can truly decide if he wants to spend £54 or not on membership.

Luckily my membership renewal fell at the end of march so I was able to cancel straight away. I can't see a point in paying out ( regardless of cost ) money for a service you won't receive, and when its all over just rejoin easy.
