Hi All, We've just purchased our first ever awning (Kampa Dometic Air.) Going to try it out next week. Think we will need lighting in there as we would like to sit in there in the evening. We have an above door light on our motorhome and an external socket so we want to add some more ambient lighting.  We want something that gives soft light.  My wife likes festoon type string lighting but not sure if they are suitable? What do you guys have? Any recommendations? Thanks

There are some LED strip lights which the brightness can be adjusted  via a remote control we have one made by Kampa we tend to fit ours between the awning roof and the cotton roof lining which defuses the light more

Why not hold fire until you try the awning with the over door light.  We find our over door light more than sufficient to provide light in our Bradcot Aspire Air 390 air awning.

The Kampa Sabre lighting is excellent, if a little expensive but it works well and you can plug the units in together.  I think, up to a maximum of three.  We have two in our Kampa 390 and, to be honest, it's overkill - one would be sufficient. Plus you have the advantage that all new Kampa awnings are 'Sabre ready' and have the velcro straps around the awning to carry the light tubes.

Mine are stored under one of the beds in the van, protected by lengths of pipe insulation.

Agree with richardandros, the Kampa Sabre lighting is excellent and comes with a remote which we take in the car with us when we go out and expect to return after dark. Turning on the lights from the car on return saves fiddling around ith torches on unlit pitches
