Personal Plates

can anybody explain to me why you need personal plates, never had them, never seen the need to have them and from my perspective they only draw added attention to your vehicle. judging  by all the above who would want all the hassle just to prove what ???

Don’t need one but wanted one, it was a good investment as it happens. I paid £250 from the DVLA 6 years ago, it’s now worth if sold £650+ 

I suppose it’s like saying why have you got a dog, why have you got a Sports car etc etc etc. It’s all about personal Choice. You may never have seen the need to have one, I did that’s my choice

I bought my "A" prefix plate with a single digit and my initials when they were first released, almost 30 years ago for £140 - haven't a clue what it's worth now but it will be considerably more than that. Wouldn't want to part with it.

Most have a model/builder logo followed by a number although racing boats have an allocated number prefixed by country ID e.g. GBR. There is no specific requirement for anything here in the UK.

Some years ago a friend worked in a Mercedes dealership in Cambridge. They serviced a car owned by a Jockey based in Newmarket. Apparently the mechanics were reluctant to road test the car after servicing.

Number plate PEN15. 

It was a genuine number, I know because I spotted it once.
