Sorry for late reply BSB - only just read your August post. We've been towing our Bailey Unicorn Cadiz 3 (MTPLM 1550kgs) with our 10 month old Turismo ELX 2.2 Auto and this after returning our previous car to Motability - a VOLVO XC60 Auto. Without question, our Turismo is a great rival to the VOLVO. Certainly not as luxurious but we chose the SsanYong for it's prime purpose of towing our 'van, not for the luxury. It is absolutely marvellous for solo driving, comfortable, fast if you need it to be and we both love the commanding driving position. If you and/or your spouse/partner are shorter than my wife at 5' 4" then it may take a few goes before you settle on a method of entering the cab - it is a high floored vehicle. It tows exceptionally well but be advised we did experience a short 'snaking' event earlier this year but I put this down to taking my 'eye off the ball' momentarily and allowing my speed to reach 60 mph on an exposed French autoroute. The towcar awards site did say that at higher speeds, there can be a slight loss of stability.  I prefer to tow at or around 56-57mph and at that speed, it is a dream to tow. The space provided in the area behind us is more than enough to carry our heavy awning, Aquaroll & Wastemaster with plenty of space to spare left for the kitchen sink. With towing limit of 2,700kgs, it gets 10 out of 10 from us.  Regards, Lew

Thanks Lew, still using my trusty old Korando, but on paper the Turismo looks good ,not worried about  snaking,, been towing for over 40 years and current van (1500kg) has ATC trailer control, plus I am a bit of a snail.I like the space on offer with the Turismo ,powerful diesel engine and heavy kerb weight plus the 7 year warranty.

Like You we experienced high winds passing the Somme heading towards Calais, but left the autoroute and used side roads, not as exposed,,Kind regards Bill
