Towing Mirrors

Is it me or has anyone else noticed what seems to be an increasing number of caravanners failing to use towing mirrors whislt the van is hitched?

Or my latest trip I spotted three such caravanners without mirrors and they couldnt have been able to see past the van clearly for safe driving and manouvering.

Of course it is my understanding that it is illegal not to have mirrors when towing if you are unable to have a certain percentage of rear view field of vision.

I hope this isnt becoming a trend as we have a bad enough name in certain areas of the motoring press whithout giving them further ammunition of caravanners towing unsafely due to the lack of what I consider a reasonable cheap but essential piece of kit
