Hi all. Could somebody who uses the VW Touareg with the factory fitted towbar and hydraulic suspension please let me know what the Kerbweight/mass in service states on there V5C logbook as when looking at the spec on autotrader no matter what the model is it gives it as 1995kg but that is probably for the base model. Thanks all. Looking at the R-Line Tech 286bhp one.

I have the 2020 286 SEL Tech with folding Tow bar and hydraulic suspension with rear wheel steering. I also have a sunroof which may add weight to the car.

The mass in service figure on my V5C is 2332Kg

So am I.  When I bought mine - albeit 5 years ago now, air suspension was an option but no mention of hydraulic.

The Mass in Service of mine is 2251kg but it's a totally different beast (the Escape model) with all the off-road toys such as low ratio box, underbody protection, heavy duty stiffened suspension, diff locks etc.

The car is so heavy, the air in the pneumatic suspension units gets compressed into a liquid, makes the ride quite firm!wink

I din't know that VW had any kind of rear steering. I remember that Honda did a few years back. I bet that could open a can of worms when it comes to wheel alignment .... some places seem to struggle when just the front wheels steer. 😁

And I thought you knew everything MM. Optional extra on some Touaregs and supposed to be able to turn in same space as a Golf.

I know a lot .... but not everything! 😉😉

I see the 4 wheel steer works a little different from the Honda set up. The VW same/opposite steer operates up to a set speed but the Honda's was dependant on the amount of lock applied.
